You must make sure that you work for a covered employer and have a note from your physician that shows that you are unable to work due to stress and anxiety for you to file for FMLA and get time off work.Be sure to check that your employer is a covered employer for FMLA.

Under current FMLA laws, a chronic condition, whether physical or mental, that may cause occasional periods when an individual is unable to work is a qualifying serious health condition. This is confirmed if it requires treatment by a healthcare provider at least twice a year and recurs over a period of time.

If you are experiencing stress and anxiety and it is making it impossible for you to work, you may be able to get time off work by taking FMLA leave. Be sure to get a note from your healthcare provider to use when completing the forms through the FMLA website and you should be able to fill out everything and take off that necessary time.
