Set realistic goals, use timers, and create routines to motivate yourself to work. There are many times when you may feel unmotivated, but need to get things done, so finding ways to motivate yourself is crucial.

If you are feeling unmotivated, you should set realistic goals for what you need to accomplish. Feeling overwhelmed can lead to feeling unmotivated. It can be easier if you break down your big tasks into small, manageable tasks. From there, set a goal of how many of these tasks you need to finish, and then do it.

Timers can also be extremely effective tools for motivating yourself to work. Set a timer for any amount of time, that can be five minutes, 30 minutes, or even an hour. Work until the timer goes off. Then, you can take a break, go on a walk, eat a snack, or just relax for a bit. Then, start the timer again and get back to work.

Sometimes the easiest way to motivate yourself to work is just to do it. Even though you really do not feel like doing anything, just start doing the task. Often, the hardest part is beginning, so if you get started, you can then feel more and more motivated to continue working.
