How to relax at work

When working at a desk all day it is paramount that you take time out for peace of mind, these breaks can be short, but should also be taken often throughout your workday. Set a goal of taking a 5 to 10-minute break every hour or two, and this will help break up your day and give you some time to relax and recharge.

This is only suggested if your company allows it; however, if you work at an organization that doesn't mind if you listen to music, you should take advantage of this. Listening to music can be a relaxing way to help you pass the time during your workday, and also can help you focus in certain situations.

• Keep your area clean

If you want to stay relaxed at work you should try to keep your work area clean, make sure you file the proper items and discard items that are no longer of use. A messy workspace can cause stress and anxiety, so you should make sure your area is tidy.

• Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the meditation practice of being in the present moment and having the awareness of your thoughts and actions. This practice can be extremely useful in making strides toward letting things go at work, and it can also improve your focus, decrease your stress levels, and improve your overall job performance.

• Connect with your coworkers

Connecting and socializing with your coworkers is a great way to relax while at work. This can improve your mood and help you to establish strong bonds.
