What degree do you need to be an agriculture teacher?
You need a minimum of a bachelor's degree in an agriculture-related field to work as an agriculture teacher. Some programs specialize in agricultural teaching, and other degree programs require a separate teaching training program.
As is the case with many disciplines, those interested in pursuing a degree in agriculture with the intention of teaching must earn a bachelor's degree while also taking teacher certification courses.

Candidates holding a bachelor's degree in one of these or another related field can earn their teaching certificate and be eligible to teach AG studies at the middle or high school level. These individuals also often become the leader of a school's FFA branch.
