This question is about what a process server does.

What hours do process servers work?

By Kate Swindlehurst - Mar. 13, 2023

Process servers do not have any exact working hours, but they often work from around 7 am to as late as 10 pm. There may be circumstances that arise that have them serving at other times of the day, but typically their working hours fall within that boundary.

The work of process servers often necessitates the need for them to work outside of the traditional 9-to-5. This is because they need to be able to find the individual to give the papers to, and this can occur at many different times.

Most states do not have any regulations on when papers can be served. This means it can occur on holidays, weekends, evenings, and really any other time. Most process servers are able to create their own hours and deadlines to work best with their own individual schedules and responsibilities.
