What is a tech job?
A tech job is a job that exists in the technology industry that includes working with different forms of tech, such as computers, hardware, software, and telecommunications. However, tech jobs do not solely exist in the technology industry but can be found in a myriad of different ones since the reliance on tech has become so strong.
Tech jobs require workers to have highly technical skills and knowledge. Here are some common examples of tech jobs that can be found in a wide variety of industries:
Data Scientist
A data scientist is a tech professional that aims to get insights from structured and unstructured data. They review figures and statistics to try and gain insights and come to conclusions and also write high-level code with Python or R, and they often use BI tools for data analysis and visualization.
Software Engineer
Software engineers deal with the development, design, testing, and maintenance of software applications. They also write code, attend company meetings, and collaborate with other software engineers. They usually work on several projects at once.
Web Developer

Systems Engineer
A systems engineer has an interdisciplinary approach to managing the total technical effort necessary to transform requirements into solutions. They are generally focused on all aspects of computer-based system development, and some of their tasks include stakeholder analysis, interface specification, design tradeoffs, and configuration management.
Data Engineer
A data engineer seeks to make useful raw data for key company decisions. Data engineers have duties like gathering data sets that line up with business goals and needs, creating algorithms to transform data into valuable information, and creating, testing, and maintaining database architectures.
