What is job sharing?

Job sharing is where two people working part-time share the responsibilities and tasks of one person working full-time. Two or more employees working less time perform a job normally performed by one full-time employee. This leads to a reduction in per-employee income.

For job sharing, the divide can be done in a few ways based on the specific needs of the role and the company. You can have one employee work some days and another the other days. You could also have one of the employees work mornings and the other work afternoons of the same day.
