This means the demand for animators is not necessarily high at the moment, but there is room for demand for animators to grow at least somewhat in the coming years.

The gradual demand for animators is mostly due to how animation is continually changing. CGI and other advances in animation technology have created an increased demand for animators to work on live-action productions as well as traditional animated features. Naturally, this creates a demand for more animators.

Often, animators need to have a combination of education, finely honed skills, and raw talent, which may limit the number of qualified individuals for any one position. This also means there is a higher demand for animators than there is a supply of qualified individuals to accept the in-demand positions, leading to projected growth for the occupation in the coming years.
