Archbishop Shaw, Archbishop Chapelle, and Archbishop Rummel, all in Jefferson Parish, were built in 1962.
1964 – Archbishop Rummel High School opens as an all boys school operated by the De LaSalle Christian Brothers.
A senior wing was added in 1966 to accommodate the first senior class.
During the 1980–81 school year, the school enclosed the area under the senior wing to make a student mall and also added a weight room to the field house.
Additionally, in 1985 the school purchased the former Stuart Prep property adjacent to the school to use for a junior high campus.
The Brothers of the Christian Schools (Christian Brothers) conducted Archbishop Rummel High School through June 1993, when they relinquished governance to the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
1993 – Roncalli changes it name to Roncalli Catholic High School.
In 2000, John was declared “Blessed Angelo Guiseppi Roncalli” by Pope John Paul II, the penultimate step on the road to sainthood.
2003 – On July 3, 2003, Roncalli Catholic High School was brought into formal association with Lasallian ministries of the Midwest District of the De LaSalle Christian Brothers.
