Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide CCR instruction to students including general math, algebra, geometry, English, spelling, reading, writing, science, history and geography; prepare lesson plans and schedule activities; develop and prepare supplemental materials to enhance textbook lessons.
* Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade and record individual scores.
* Counsel and advise students; administer a variety of tests; assist with the development of realistic goals and objectives; conduct evaluation sessions and testing for students; determine interests and appropriate schedule and classes to fit student needs.

* Serve on and participate in a variety of college committees and other institutional activities and programs.
* May participate in the development and administration of the goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures regarding an assigned college academic program; recommend modified systems, policies and procedures.
* Investigate excessive student absence; work with students to resolve significant problems.
* Identify and contact outside resources for student assistance and counseling.
* May clean tables; may rearrange classroom furniture as needed.

Education/Experience Qualifications
Required:

Job Description
Teaching is onsite (in clinical setting) with one of our clinical partners.
Schedule: most commonly 12-hour rotations (7a-7p) for three to four consecutive days.
Adult Health (Medical-Surgical) Nursing course overview:
The focus is on the needs of adult patients and their families regarding health promotion and management of conditions that require acute and chronic care. The nursing process is used in the discussion of health alterations affecting selected life processes. Students continue their professional skill development as members of the health team.
In this role, the clinical instructor:
* Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession.
* Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
* Plans clinical experiences for and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
Hold an unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina
Two years of direct patient care as a registered nurse
Current AHA Healthcare Provider BLS certification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds
Must complete any onboarding process required by the clinical partner
Must commit to the same day once per week for the period of one semester, either Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays. Opportunities for more than one day per week are also available.
Preferred:
Master of Science (MSN) degree from an accredited institution
