He was director or vice president of engineering at three successful startups acquired by SonicWALL, Yahoo! (NASDAQ:YHOO), and Thomson Corporation (NYSE:TRI; TSE:TR). As vice president of engineering at Thomson Corporation, he drove process innovations to ensure rapid, high-quality development. His accomplishments at MailFrontier, SearchFox, and Aplia include building technical teams sizing from five people to 30; developing a large-scale, highly available web service that processed 2 million transactions per day; and developing innovative "Web 2.0" technologies. Previously, Tim managed Excite Inbox and its 6 million users and held senior engineering positions at Apple, Adobe, and others. Frank P. Patchel is the chief financial officer of Backblaze. Frank has served as the CFO & COO for both public and private companies in information technology and software as a service (SaaS) in several industries. He has also served as president for two companies that were successfully sold to public companies. His corporate development work includes authoring strategic plans, preparing companies for an IPO and executing over a dozen mergers and acquisitions. Frank's career started with Ernst & Young where he became a CPA and includes 15 years with ADP with the last half as a divisional CFO & COO. Frank received a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.

Mark Potter is a Chief Information Security Officer at Backblaze.

Tom brings extensive experience as General Counsel, including heading the legal department for both public and private companies. Most recently, Tom led legal matters at Quantenna Communications, a high performance Wi-Fi solutions provider. At Quantenna, Tom also helped lead the company's initial public offering, and subsequently its sale to a Fortune 500 company several years later. Prior to Quantenna, Tom was at Intematix Corporation and Brocade Communications. Tom began his legal career at a prominent law firm in Silicon Valley. Tom received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University and a Juris Doctorate in law from the University of California at Davis.
