Job Summary: The BanquetServer provides food and beverage service in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner during banquet events. This role is focused on delivering high-quality service to ensure a positive experience for all guests attending dining and banquet functions.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality and guest service.
Greet guests warmly and ensure prompt drink orders.
Present the menu, answer guest questions, and make food and beverage suggestions.
Suggest wine selections where appropriate.
Relay orders to the kitchen and beverage services promptly.
Observe guests to fulfill additional requests and anticipate when they have completed their meals.
Clear and reset tables efficiently.
Complete all assigned side work tasks during shifts.
Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area.
Assist with setting up, cleaning, and refreshing banquet function rooms.
Attend department meetings and complete tasks assigned by the Banquet Manager.
Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, including reading and understanding MSDS.

Job Description
The Banquet Captain will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of workers preparing and serving food.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for staffing banquet functions.
Train workers in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for guest service provided by the servers in banquet functions.
Responsible for banquet liquor inventory and issuance to bartenders.
Responsible for presenting banquet checks to guests and receiving payment for the banquet function.
Responsible for cash used on cash banquet bars.
Perform all assigned side work, including replenishing condiments and restocking banquet shelves with supplies.
Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products, as assigned to adhere to health standards.
Abide by all State, Federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
Performs support functions for Banquet Housemen as requested; responsible for setup, service, and clean-up of banquet functions.
Orders supplies and linens for functions from Purchasing and Housekeeping departments. Separates, posts, and distributes event order sheets after they are completed.
Assist servers and captains with the execution of events according to the event order and Richfield's quality standards.
Greet and seat guests, and present menus and wine lists.
Compile and balance cash receipts at the day's or shift's end.
Perform various financial activities, such as cash handling, deposit preparation, and payroll.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
At least 2 years of experience as a banquet captain or food & Beverage supervisor is required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and sitting.
