The territorial legislature created a large Cache County in 1856.
In early 1873, the Utah Northern Railroad between Brigham City and Logan was completed.
He was finally killed in 1923.The second-lowest temperature recorded in the lower 48 states was at Peter Sink, near Logan Canyon—minus 69.3 degrees (-70 has been recorded in Montana).
The CVHS began in 1951 and some of it's early members included Joel E. Ricks, Leonard Arrington, George Ellsworth, J. Duncan Brite, and Merlin Hovey.
