Mr. Colin Heffron has been GFI’s President since February 2004. Mr. Heffron is responsible for all of GFI’s brokerage, data and analytics businesses. He joined the company in 1988 as a broker of foreign currency options in New York, before moving to London to assist in the establishment of GFI’s London office. From 1991 until 1994, Mr. Heffron headed GFI’s currency options business. From 1994 until 1997, Mr. Heffron ran the day-today operations of all GFI’s European businesses. From 1998 until February 2004, Mr.Heffron was head of all operations in Europe and joint-head of Asian operations. Mr. Heffron has been a member of GFI’s Board of Directors since 2001.

Since starting with Morgan Keegan in May of 2001 as Head of Operations for Investment Management Consulting Group, Mr. Garrett transitioned the group into a successful operation through implementing strict management control and focusing on technical details. During his tenure this fee-based accounts have grown from $1.3 billion under management to $9 billion and his group is producing financial performance reports for all clients with in the Private Client Group. His team implemented a system to provide daily time and dollar weighted performance reports for all retail accounts at the firm. In 2006 and 2007 he served on the IDEA Project Committee representing the technology needs of Wealth Management Services. In 2003 he served as the Chairman of the Operations Consulting Roundtable, an industry group of his peers from regional financial firms. John R. Ettelson became president of William Blair in 2003 and has been CEO since 2004. Under his leadership, the investment banking and asset management business has grown to more than 20 offices globally and annual revenues have tripled to over $1 billion. During his three decades at William Blair, Mr. Ettelson has held various leadership positions within the firm, including; head of mergers and acquisitions, chief financial officer, and chief operating officer. Mr. Ettelson has a deep commitment to his community and is a respected civic leader. He is the past chairman of the board of trustees for Lincoln Park Zoo and of the Economic Club of Chicago. He currently sits on the boards of the Northwestern Medical Group, Francis Parker School, the Executives’ Club of Chicago, and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. He is a member of Commercial Club of Chicago, and is a member of its Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago. Additionally, he is also involved in industry trade organizations where he is on the board and executive committee of SIFMA and on the board of the American Securities Association. Mr. Ettelson received his Sc.B. from Brown University and his JD/M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
