Under direct supervision, performs basic to moderate complexity geologic/ seismic evaluations/fault rupture hazard and slope stability investigations/ hydrogeologic analysis (aquifer test analysis; geochemical analysis; geotechnical analysis; contaminant transport analysis etc.) in both surface and subsurface geologic conditions pertaining to water supply, contaminant and/or geotechnical assessments. Activities may include well geologic logging, water sampling, surface geological mapping, aquifer testing and/or soils characterization and data compilation and evaluation Prepares cross sections, isoconcentration maps, and/or QA/QC analysis. Develops draft evaluations and calculations for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all assessments. Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff. Performs other duties as required.

The Assistant Superintendent coordinates field operations for specific areas and/or specific self-performed and subcontracted trades on a project. Assistant Superintendents ensure that construction work is completed according to a project's planned sequence and schedule, and implement and enforce pertinent safety and quality control procedures.

The Physical Side of the Role: This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. Job Description
Olsson's rail traffic experts provide clients with a single resource for services such as traffic signal preemption design, grade crossing safety design, traffic operations studies, and other related services. As a civil engineering intern on the Rail Traffic and Public Projects team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You'll be part of a team, working for our clients on projects with our most experienced engineers. You may be involved in a variety of tasks including basic project design through CAD drafting, performing research, and writing technical reports. You may also travel to job sites for observation as needed. Other tasks you may be involved in include assisting with traffic and preemption analysis/design, performing site visits, assisting with plan or study preparation, and working closely with others on complex projects.
