Jooncheol Yang's LinkedIn

Starting out as a system engineer, I've been through web development, product management and now am CEO of Onoffmix.com.

I read C/C++/Java/Object-C and code in HTML5/Javascript/PHP/Python.

MSX-II was my first interaction with a computer at the age of 7, managed a VT-BBS service at the age of 10, connected to the WWW for the first time through Linux at 11, started building websites using HTML at 12, and studied Linux and Network Administration participating in meetings of the Korea Linux User Group.

At the age of 13, a mentor advised me that a person with only technical skills has his limits. Ever since, I have self-educated myself on Business and Computer Science through numerous books, and studied both majors in college until graduating with a degree in Business Administration.

I ran my first and second business during high school, and worked as web developer and product manger for 6 years at major Korean internet portal companies since the age of 20. I have an immense interest in entrepreneurship. As president of the Korea Youth Entrepreneurs Confederation, I managed and created educational programs for founders of companies in high school from 2002-2003. Since 2004, I have taught junior high, high school and college students entrepreneurship and venture company creation courses, of which are created by Small and Medium Business Administration of Korea.

I also published two books in 2013. One is called "The Birth of Great Ventures," a series of post-mortem interviews of 10 IT startups in Korea with tips when creating a venture business. The other book is called "Thank you Taoism," a reflection on life of each of the 12 co-authors themselves, based on the learnings in 2012 at the CEO forum 'Forest of Liberal Arts.'
