Cellcom company history timeline

1982

In 1982 Northeast Communications of Wisconsin, Inc. was formed as a holding company, with Northeast Telephone Company as a subsidiary.

1984

Naze remembers Nsight as a more highly regulated phone company when he joined the organization as an accountant in 1984.

1987

The company entered the wireless industry in 1987, with its subsidiary Cellcom.

1999

The company began operating as Nsight in 1999 to reflect the growing scope of business and its expanding wireless footprint.

2007

In 2007, the company acquired Bayland Telephone.

2009

Northeast Communications would be renamed Nsight in 2009.

A new name was announced for Northeast Telephone and all other fixed companies in 2009.

2010

Nsight celebrated 100 years in business on March 10, 2010.

2012

Cellcom marked a quarter of a century of service on August 5, 2012.

2017

The company has 775 employees and annual revenue of $318 million as of 2017.
