The Client Care Technician / Specialist provides recovery-focused, trauma-informed support to individuals receiving residential and crisis services. This role empowers clients to build hope, wellness, and independence while supporting a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic environment. This part-time position is based in Maryville, IL, Tuesday through Saturday from 7:00am to 3:30pm in the Women's Residential Unit. Responsibilities Client Support & Engagement Guide the Recovery Journey: Support clients by observing their progress, stepping in when needed, and reporting on how they are meeting their personal goals. Promote Empowerment: Use a "recovery-first" mindset that emphasizes hope and respect. You'll help clients regain control of their lives through trauma-informed care and supportive language. Lead Daily Activities: Work with the clinical team to facilitate scheduled group activities and keep the daily routine on track. Mealtime & Wellness: Assist with meal preparation and join clients during mealtimes. When nursing staff aren't available, you will observe clients as they take their prescribed medications, following all safety protocols. Admissions & Logistics Welcome New Clients: Assist with the intake process by orienting new arrivals to program rules, helping them settle into their rooms, and conducting an inventory of their belongings. Provide Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments, recreational outings, and other necessary community events. Team Coverage: Act as a backup for Residential Recovery staff to ensure every individual entering treatment feels welcomed and supported. Safety & Communication Monitor Facility Safety: Maintain a secure environment by monitoring surveillance equipment, answering calls, and reporting any facility issues immediately. Document & Report: Keep accurate records of safety checks, shift logs, and incident reports. You'll also ensure a smooth "hand-off" during shift changes by providing thorough updates and client counts to the incoming team. Maintain Professionalism: Uphold Chestnut's standards for excellent customer service and strictly protect the confidentiality of all client and organizational information. Adapt as Needed: Handle other duties as they arise or as coordinated with your supervisor to keep the program running smoothly. Qualifications • Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and a demonstrated interest in social services • High school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years of experience in mental health, substance use, or other social services OR • Bachelor's degree OR • A combination of college coursework and experience totaling five (5) years OR • Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification (required for Specialist title) • Ability to obtain Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) certification within two (2) years of hire • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and accept supervision • Experience in peer recovery, mental health, substance use, or social services preferred • Valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and insurability • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, email, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems Are you intrigued by this job but don't meet every single requirement? Accepting applications for College Intern What will you do? * Under general direction creates or updates training (e.g., User Guides, training objectives, Agendas) for Information Technology (IT) Training using Microsoft Office Products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Assists supervisor & Technology-Based Training Developers, or other IT Staff, with coordinating business review sessions, requirements gathering & business or process analysis. * Analyze, design, develop or modify existing training material(s). * Under direction of ITS leadership &/or other IT staff, use multiple tools & techniques including Photoshop, PowerPoint, & Word for various learning activities. * Prepares documentation of computer & human resource factors for new learning, recommends appropriate hardware & software to higher level authorities. * Develops system flowcharts & detailed program specifications, structures & procedures including system test procedures to determine validity & reliability. Writes complete system documentation. * The candidate may also work with the DODD IT staff to prepare documentation as needed; or assist in data review/data entry activities. * Attends meetings & takes notes when manager is not available. * Performs other duties as assigned within scope of internship.     What You'll Do: The IT Audit Intern position is a learning-focused opportunity designed to provide hands-on experience in operational and information technology audits, internal control assessments, and audit analytics within a statewide environment. Under close supervision, you will assist the Office of Internal Audit (OIA) teams with planning, fieldwork, documentation, and follow-up related to risks and controls across multiple agencies. Key responsibilities include: * Supporting IT audit planning and fieldwork (e.g., gathering artifacts, performing control walkthroughs, documenting test procedures and results) for engagements related to IT risks and controls such as identity/access management, configuration management, and system change control. * Preparing and updating audit workpapers and issue logs; contributing to remediation tracking and follow-up activities in OIA tools. * Assisting with control testing (e.g., user provisioning/deprovisioning samples, periodic access recertifications), including data collection and exception tracking. * Attending and preparing meeting notes and status summaries; participating in team meetings and stakeholder interviews; following up on assigned tasks. * Contributing to report drafting by synthesizing evidence, observations, and recommendations aligned to OIA methodology and standards. * Shadowing experienced auditors to learn about enterprise technology governance, operations, and risk management within the State of Ohio environment. This is a 6-month to 1-year internship opportunity, starting no earlier than June 2026. Interns may work up to 40 hours per week in our downtown Columbus office; we can work with your schedule. What We're Looking For: * Education: Currently enrolled (or recently completed) in an undergraduate program in Information Systems/Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Accounting/Information Systems, or related field. * Relevant Coursework: Audit, IT security, cybersecurity, data analysis, or information risk management. Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, CSF 2.0), identity and access concepts, or IT Service Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow) helpful but not required. * Strong written and verbal communication skills for success in a collaborative team environment. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently with guidance. * Interest in audit, risk, and controls.
