POSITION SUMMARY:

The Day Program Aide / Caregiver is responsible for assisting adults who have disabilities with activities in the Adult Training Facility such as vocation training, basic work skills, basic hygiene, basic money management, community participation, crafts and activities and other life skills.
The Program Assistant (Caregiver) observes and reports on the accomplishments of participants, while maintaining a safe and clean environment. Staff also transport participants in the Agency vehicle out into the community for learning, engagement and fun activities.
This position works part-time with a schedule of 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. No Evenings, No Weekends, No Holidays!
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
High School Diploma/GED
Current driver's license with the ability to travel utilizing an Agency vehicle
Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) - provided by Lifesteps
First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six (6) months - provided by Lifesteps
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 200 pounds
With Assistance
Preferred:
One year experience working with individuals with disabilities in the human services field - such as direct care aide, home health aide, personal care assistant, direct support professional, medical assistant, etc.
