RESPONSIBILITIES

Bishop's coaches instruct and work with athletes to prepare them for competition. Coaches help athletes to play their best individually and as a team while instilling the School's mission and values. They are experts on the rules, strategies, and techniques of their sports. Coaches must also know about sports equipment, physical fitness and safety.

Assists in the development and implementation of both the educational and the athletic component of the IRA Division I Men's rowing program. Also assists in creating and implementing the general business operations of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist head coach with teaching and coaching (athlete development):
Involvement with all administrative and organizational aspects of IRA Division I program under the supervision of the head coach.
Supervision of athletes in a coordinated and planned program of practices and competition, with a concern for the athletes health and welfare, physical and psychological preparation.
Assist with the organization, planning and implementation of daily practices.
Direct on-the-water coaching responsibilities (as assigned by the head coach).
Assist with the development and improvement of athlete skills. Work with individual players before and after practice, when requested.
Teach out-of-season, individual skill sessions, staying within the NCAA & IRA regulations for individual player workouts.
Evaluate race performances and provide information to the head coach.
Co-develop and oversee conditioning and weight room activities.
Recruiting (phone calls, contacts, evaluations, emails, official and unofficial visits etc.):
Understand and keep up to date regarding NCAA/IRA/conference rules as they pertain to recruiting and eligibility.
Assist in the identification and recruiting of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes for admission to the University with adherence to admissions and athletic department policies and procedures.
Pass the NCAA Coaches' recruiting test annually.
Identify and evaluate prospective talent through evaluation at races, regattas, and video.
Weekly phone conversations with prospects.
Junior recruiting-Identify prospects and follow-up as requested by the head coach.
Request transcripts from recruits and follow up with appropriate calls to registrar and high school counselors.
Unofficial visits - Coordinate unofficial visits in keeping with appropriate NCAA & IRA regulations.

Drive boat trailer to regattas.
Team Travel Coordination:
Coordinate air and ground transportation with authorized travel agencies.
Coordinate hotel accommodation with appropriate vendors.
Secure bus and van use with transportation coordinator.
Request and distribute cash advances to players and coaches, and secure appropriate documentation/signatures.
Coordinate all video equipment.
Create and distribute detailed travel itineraries.
File expense report for team in a timely manner upon return from each away trip.
General Assignments:
Knowledge of and adherence to all University, NCAA, IRA, and conference rules and regulations, policies and procedures, with special attention to recruiting, eligibility, admissions, and financial aid.
Enforce University and athletic department policies and regulations with regard to use/abuse of alcohol and drugs by team members.
Maintain professional growth by attendance at appropriate meetings, clinics, workshops, etc.
Assist in conference, regional and national events hosted by the University when requested.
Assist in the organization of team and department awards presentations for student-athletes.
Prepare for end-of-season team banquet, including the creation of an end-of-season video.

▪ Degree in a related field or current certification through at least one nationally accredited industry associations.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Specialized fitness credentials preferred.
* Prior experience as a lead or manager on duty within a fitness organization.
Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
* Physical effort required for daily duties include lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, jumping, kicking, and prolonged standing and walking.
* While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
* The noise level in the environment is occasionally loud.
Travel Requirement
* Limited (less than 5%) travel by car to trainings, or meetings at other club locations.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations
Member Engagement
Call and welcome new members, ensuring they feel connected from day one.
Re-engage low-utilization members to boost retention.
Lead outreach for special events and community initiatives.
Visibility & Community Presence
Host outdoor workouts to increase studio visibility.
Represent STRIDE as the face of the studio in the Huntington Beach community.
Programming & Workshops
Organize and lead in-studio workshops to educate and inspire members.
Role-play sales scenarios to sharpen team skills and improve conversions.
Coaching & Feedback
Coach a minimum of 10+ classes per week across all STRIDE formats.
Deliver elite-level group fitness classes and provide personal training-style coaching in a group setting.
Provide monthly feedback and mentorship to coaches.
Drive member conversion by ensuring coaching excellence.
Lead by example, taking class at least once per week.
Leadership & Development
Build strong relationships with members and staff, creating a welcoming culture.
Educate coaches and staff on best practices for engagement and conversions.
Support continuous improvement and team development.
