OBJECTIVE
Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding paid rotational internship opportunity with one of Michigan's top ranked workplaces? Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies is seeking motivated students to join our team!
During this fourteen-week rotational internship program, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Claims, Agency, Marketing, the Public Policy and Commodity Division of Michigan Farm Bureau and Underwriting while receiving a realistic job preview of each area. As an intern, you will receive training and support from managers of each division mentioned above and will have the opportunity to work on various projects. You will also be required to complete a Capstone Presentation detailing your experience at the end of the summer to Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies leadership team.
For the Communications and Marketing Intern, you will assist the Marketing department with various communications work including, social media posts, articles, blogs, and advertising and marketing messages.
The Communications and Marketing Intern is a part of the Agricultural Insurance Internship. The Agricultural Insurance Internship is a partnership between five different departments within Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies. Interns who are a part of the Agricultural Insurance Internship will get to have unique experiences in our Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, Agency and Public Policy & Commodity Division spaces. While you will be hired into one space, you will go through rotational Wednesdays, where you spend each Wednesday within one of the five departments listed in the Agricultura Insurance Internship.
All summer interns will also have the opportunity to participate in the following events:

Intern Farm Visit
Additionally, all summer interns will participate in the Capstone Presentation. This will be a presentation to recap your summer with Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies, the projects you worked on and any other information regarding your internship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop social media posts aimed at educating and engaging followers.
Develop a marketing campaign to promote and drive sales of life insurance.
Gain an understanding of key functions through on the job training and development.
Collaborate with department staff to contribute on various processes and projects.
Assist department managers with day-to-day tasks and procedures.
Undertake special assignments as instructed by department manager.
Build relationships with department stakeholders and contribute toward company and department goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with people required.
Knowledge of promotional writing required.
Ability to represent the Farm Bureau brand at events.
Must be enrolled at a college or university and have declared a major course of study moving closer to (or working toward) graduation.

Position Summary:
Job Type: Full-Time Summer Internship

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour.
The intern would provide needed event planning and execution support, along with staffing assistance, for at least three major events: State of the BWL, the employee/retiree picnic, and the BWL Hometown Power 5K. In addition, the intern would support staffing needs at a variety of external events, including government meetings, Lansing Chamber roundtables, neighborhood and community association meetings, smaller events hosted by BWL, and BWL sponsored events. The intern will learn from, and be supervised by, a mentor of the Government & Community Relations Department.
Essential Functions:
The intern will gain meaningful exposure to both government/community relations and event planning.
The intern will attend external events and meetings as described above to assist the team with tasks such as note-taking and community engagement. They will gain exposure to the government relations side the utilities industry by conducting bill analysis, meeting with government officials, and attending city council meetings.
The intern will also support employee volunteer group coordination as volunteer opportunities arise.
The intern will also assist with government bill analysis, community engagement, volunteer initiatives, and other day-to-day departmental projects as they come up, providing additional capacity during what is traditionally a busy event season.
The intern will assist with designing event plans and task lists for BWL's three major summer events.
During the first portion of the internship (approximately four weeks), the intern will focus on the employee picnic by assisting with event plans/task lists, vendor communication, ticket requests, and coordination with the venue.
In the following four weeks, the intern's focus will shift to State of the BWL, supporting event logistics, vendor coordination, and internal planning tasks.
In the final portion of internship, the intern will support planning and execution of the BWL 5K, including coordination with external sponsors, vendors, and event-day logistics. The intern will provide on-site staffing support at each of these events, including set-up, check-in, and distribution of employee gifts or tickets.
The intern will further assist with other departmental projects as needed, providing valuable additional capacity during a high-demand season.
Utilizes standard office software (i.e., spreadsheet, word-processing, database) and SAP.
Required to follow BWL Safety Manual and wear personal protective equipment for all field work.

As a Marketing Intern, you will play a key role in how the public experiences the Mechanix brand. This position is designed for someone eager to learn the ins and outs of sports marketing while actively contributing to the growth of a professional franchise. This is not a background role; you will be directly involved in projects that fans, sponsors, and partners will see.
Responsibilities:
Design and execute creative game-day promotions that energize fans, from theme nights to in-stadium activations
Support sponsorship activation by coordinating signage, giveaways, and interactive fan experiences that deliver partner value
Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing materials that boost awareness across Michigan, including digital graphics, posters, and email campaigns

The Growlers continue the rich history of baseball in Kalamazoo, carrying on the tradition of the Kalamazoo Kodiaks and Kalamazoo Kings. Homer Stryker Field, a 3,000-seat park located in Kalamazoo's Mayors Riverfront Park is the home field of the Growlers.
The Northwoods League is a summer baseball league comprised of teams of the top college players from across North America. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America. Each team is operated similar to a professional minor league team, providing players an opportunity to play under the same conditions using wooden bats, minor league specification baseballs, experiencing overnight road trips, and playing nightly before thousands of fans.

Description of Responsibilities: The Marketing & Live Camera Intern 2026 will be responsible for operating one of two live cameras that are displayed on the video board at Growlers home games. The intern will also create graphics, schedule content, assist with ballpark setup, set up Synergy cameras and other essential gameday setup. On non-gamedays, the intern will be responsible for creating content for the Growlers various social media platforms. The content includes but is not limited to ticket sales content, sponsorship content, merchandise content and general brand awareness.
The Kalamazoo Growlers host 36 home games throughout the season as well as special events and festivals. The social media content creation intern is required to attend all games and special events during the season to perform these duties as well as other given to them by the General Manager or Marketing Director.

No Compensation. The extent to which the Intern and the Company clearly understand that there is no expectation of compensation. The Intern understands that they are not entitled to wages for their time spent in the internship. The intern agrees that he/she will be compensated in knowledge, education, and experience as consideration for the duties/responsibilities that he/she will undertake during the duration of this agreement.
Housing & Living Expenses: Housing is not provided, intern is responsible for coordinating summer arrangements. There are an abundance of housing options in Kalamazoo during the summer. Company will provide $600 monthly stipend to assist in covering living expenses such as food, gas and housing.
