REPORTS TO: Extrusion Manager
SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 8 hr. shifts (Mon-Fri) 7:00 am- 3:00 pm) Must be willing and able to work Mandatory OT on off days as necessary.
Pay Range: $20 to $26 per hour
The position of CAD Operator is critical to the Niles Facility. We are looking for a experienced AutoCAD / Inventor drafter to generate solid and surface CAD models for our Extrusion and Fabrication departments. In this role, you will be required to meet with estimators and engineers to discuss designs and generate prints.
SKILLS
Develop production drawings with an assortment of parts to submit for in-house manufacturing as well as outside vendors.
Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create drawings and plans.
Collaborate with estimators and engineers on projects.
Determine the proper size and materials for products.
Presenting rough design drafts for customer approval.
Manage multiple projects at once.
Enter critical information into MES system.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What You Will Need:
Associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting.
Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in a CAD Operator role.

Utilizing different cad software and open drawings sent by customers to analyze scope of work or download from FTP site.
Begin to determine required procedures such as machining, welding, burning, etc. Customer contact if necessary.
Quantify work by determining time required for task. Also material and components required.
Apply hourly rate for time estimation.
Obtain quotes for outside processes. Send data out.
If inquiry turns to an order create 2D drawing files for production. Check drawings and other data to match work order.
Act as liaison between customer and shop production helping to answer questions and provide as much tech support as possible.
Required competency, education, and experience:
Candidate must have high school or equivalent education.
Candidate must have at least 2 years experience with CAD Software (either college courses or trade school).
Candidate must have good communication and people skills.
Candidate must be able to present a professional demeanor suitable for this position.
Candidate must have good organizational skills and be capable of performing the responsibilities listed above.
Preferred competency, education, and experience:
Knowledge of stamping dies and fabrications a plus.

Operate, maintain, and repair fire control radars, mainframe computers, large screen displays, LANs, weapon control consoles, and automatic gun systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical systems used in weapons systems.
Support combat systems readiness aboard aircraft carriers, Aegis cruisers, and other surface ships.
Work Environment
ETs and FCs serve on fleet units worldwide and at shore-based repair facilities. Expect assignments aboard ships, at remote stations, and in technical repair shops. Work is highly technical, requiring precision and teamwork.
