Responsibilities
· Comprehend blueprint readings to prepare layouts including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring and marking materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions.
· Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass and/or drywall.
· Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
· Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and/or marking gauge.
· Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, sanders, levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares and other hand tools to repair and erect structures.
· Join materials with nails, screws, bolts, staples and adhesives.
· Complete the following tasks: stain-grade trim work, hang doors, drill and set door hardware, install partitions, set windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, read blueprints, erect scaffolding, utilize appropriate math skills.
· Check completed work units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location, and are up to code and specifications.
· Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
· May perform other related duties as assigned.

* Repairs and maintains historic masonry on buildings, parapets, and boundary fences, chimneys, fireplaces, manholes, and boilers. Must be able to match existing historic surfaces.
* Have comprehensive knowledge of mixing techniques, applications etc. Extensive skills in cutting and shaping block, terra cotta, brick and stone.
* Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and specifications independently and determine the layout and work sequences.
* Prepares surfaces for painting by sanding, buffing and cleaning; cleans brushes and other painting equipment; moves ladders, scaffolding and/or drop cloths; and carries paint, brushes, and equipment. Applies one or more sealing compounds occasionally.
* Patch and/or replace stucco, including paper, wire, scratch and brown coats to match existing historic surfaces.
Physical Demands: This position is required to perform masonry work from ladders, scaffolds, platforms, and other cramped and hard-to-reach places. Duties require the incumbent to sit, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and work in uncomfortable positions. If the incumbent is assigned to perform masonry work in remote locations, the incumbent may be required to walk, hike, climb, or drive over rough and uneven terrain. The incumbent is expected to lift and/or carry items up to 50 pounds unassisted, and occasionally up to 100 pounds in weight

Working Conditions: Most work is performed outside with exposure to all types of harsh weather conditions. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction surveying field, including both field and office
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Ability to relate to clients and people at all levels of the organization
Knowledge of field survey operations, engineering, and construction industry
Ability to read, analyze and interpret drawings and the most complex documents.
Excellent computer skills
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Light to moderate lifting may be required.
