CDM Smith is looking for Inspectors to provide independent, professional construction inspection and oversight of Federal Construction Projects with agencies such as USACE, AFCEC, and NAVFAC. This is a pipeline requisition for future projects. The Construction Inspection Specialist documents inspection findings and communicates issues to project leadership. The role requires applying broad professional knowledge of construction practices to meet client needs, clearly communicating project progress and issues to diverse functional teams and project leadership, and ensuring projects are delivered successfully, safely, and in compliance with applicable requirements. Work is performed independently under limited supervision. This position will coordinate job duties and delegate tasks to construction workers and sub-contractors. The position will work closely with construction managers, estimators and internal department to ensure jobs are completed on time. You will be a leader and help train more junior memebers of the crew. In this position you will not work a typical 8-5 shift. Hours may vary based on workload and customer need. You will be required to travel out of town for this position. Essential Functions: Monitor and maintain schedules for workers and sub-contractors; make sure the best skills are applied by each worker and ensure product installation requirements are followed accurately and efficiently. Ensure all safe work practices are followed at all times. Ensure safe housekeeping practices are followed at all times. Brief crew members on daily tasks and direct workers on assigned tasks. Track rental equipment, material needs and use, monitor labor and sub-contractor costs to maintain project budgets. Verify accuracy and compliance of tasks in progress to comply with codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements. Document daily activities, material/parts used, testing, inspections and visitors. Create and maintain positive working relationships with crew members, vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors to maintain a timely flow of supplies, materials and sub-contractor work. Ability to travel to job sites. Must be able to operate heavy equipment to dig ditches and manually install equipment. Work with concrete, framing, pouring, mixing, and finishing. Maintain positive working relationships with crew members, vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure deadlines are met. Experience, Competencies and Education High school diploma/GED 3-5 years construction experience running crews and sub-contractors. Preferabley Petroleum Construction. 40hr OSHA training is a plus. Equipment operation experience with operating Skid-Steer loaders, Min-x excavators and Rubber tire backhoes. Detail oriented. Strong communication skills. Must be a self-starter with strong leadership qualities. Ability to lift 75 -100 lbs. Ability to work outside during all types of weather. Job Description Contractor's Specialty Service Company is the Arkansas contractor of choice for temporary and permanent pavement marking and marking removal services. Our services include long line thermoplastic and paint striping, detail and parking lot striping, airport striping, decorative crosswalks, and pavement marking removal. Through a combination of highly trained staff and state-of-the art equipment, CSSC is able to exceed the expectations of our government, contractor, and private business customers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Manually load or unload equipment, materials, or supplies · Assist with layout of roadway markings. · Correctly load and secure all loads. · Drive assigned vehicle/equipment as directed to and from job site. Including daily pre-trip inspections of assigned truck and log keeping, as required. (eligible drivers only). · Perform roadway preparation, including grinding, sealing, tape removal, as directed. · Once Flagger certified, assist in traffic control as directed. · Assist in maintenance of assigned equipment. · Responsible for maintaining assigned PPE and having proper PPE on hand for scheduled work. · Participate in all required safety training including weekly Toolbox Talks. · Clean and organize warehouse, shop, yard, office, and vehicles to maintain a clean, safe work environment. · Responsible for reporting all incidents you are involved in or witness to the Safety Director as per company training and incident reporting protocols. · Other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · High school diploma or equivalent · Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screen.
