What you will do
The Rapid Response Nurse is a highly-skilled licensed practitioner trained to respond and support bedside nurses and practitioners when urgent and emergent situations arise. The Rapid Response Nurse is a resource who exercises independent nursing judgment in managing the care of patients with complex health problems, as well as staff nurses throughout the organization in managing urgent and emergent situations.
The Rapid Response nurse serves in a roving role addressing multiple needs and situations as they arise through the shift, but may be required to assume patient care assignments in the critical care units.
Workflows are based on urgent patient care needs, however, the rapid response nurses will also have assigned tasks to complete such as projects, staff education, performance improvement data collection, etc.
A collaborative member of the health care team, the Rapid Response Team RN delivers nursing care to specific populations of patients. The Rapid Response Team RN will work collaboratively with the Medical Critical Care charge nurse(s) to ensure high quality delivery of care and to maintain continuity of care through appropriate referral and follow-up. The Rapid Response Team RN is an active member of the Rapid Response Committee, Trauma Committee, and the MTP Committee.
The Rapid Response Nurse collaborates with the House Supervisors to triage priorities that support patient care needs.
Responds to all Rapid Response Team calls. This will include Code Blue, S.T.A.T., Trauma, and Massive Transfusion Protocol. Completes post S.T.A.T. Event follow-up and documentation.
The Rapid Response Nurse may also provide consultative resources.
Facilitates debriefings / critiques of Code Blue events.
Reviews on a daily basis the medical records of restrained patients, to ensure standards of care are being met.
Communicates on a daily basis with each charge nurse to identify high risk patients.
Uses critical thinking and assessment skills to serve as a resource to colleagues and assist with emergency/urgent patient care needs throughout the facility.
Performs assessment / data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiological and cognitive status.
Formulates a prioritized and goal directed plan of care, that is based on patient's presenting problems and projected outcomes. Implements care in a knowledge, skillful, consistent manner, while promoting the continuum of care.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the health care process (self, systems, environment, and instrumentation) as related to meeting patient outcomes.
Documents in patient and department records in a timely, accurate and concise manner according to the department standards.
Delegates tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care and department activities in accordance with the Kansas State Nurse Practice Act.

Tracks CX KPIs, provides recommendations for improvement, and develops learning agendas and optimization strategies

What you will do
Review, interpret and verify provider medication orders making any recommendations and clinical interventions as necessary based on patient specific condition, disease state, age and other clinical factors.
Manage medication use including the compounding, preparation, selection, dispensing, storage and stocking of medications for the entire organization.
Facilitate completion of pharmacy medication distribution functions. Examples include directing pharmacy technician workflow and verification of accuracy of all final products prior to dispensing to patients.
Address and complete provider consults proficiently and provide drug information to healthcare professionals and education to patients.
Educate and train pharmacy personnel and other healthcare professionals and serve as preceptors for pharmacy students and pharmacy residents.

Short Description
Reporting to the Supervisor of the Clinical Documentation Team the Clinical Documentation Educator, through diverse assignments, supports and participates in educational activities to improve of the quality, completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation for Cooper University Physicians (CUP.)
Experience Required
Physician coding and compliance experience with significant emphasis on/strong background in procedural, surgical and/or Evaluation and Management services.
Training and presentation experience with physicians and other clinicians both individually and in groups.
Accomplished in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and other supplemental training materials.
Previous work experience in the auditing and coding of professional clinical documentation; both handwritten and electronic medical records.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma required
Some college or bachelor's degree preferred; Associate degree in nursing or other relevant associate degree also considered.
License/Certification Requirements
CPC and/or CCS-P; CRC or intent to sit/pass exam within 1 year of hire.
