We are currently seeking a Technical Customer Support II, reporting to the Technical Support Manager, to provide professional, prompt, and accurate technical support to both internal and external customers for Sea-Bird Scientific products. This role serves as a primary point of contact for domestic and international customers, delivering a high level of technical support. The position is responsible for handling customer inquiries related to instrument use, troubleshooting, applications, maintenance, and best practices.
This role is part of the Applied Science Team and requires an on-site presence at our Bellevue, WA facility.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Answering incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
Providing clear, professional technical responses to customer support requests via email or web form
Troubleshooting mechanical and electronic issues related to Sea-Bird Scientific instruments
Diagnosing and resolving software and data-related issues
Using scientific software to plot, process, and evaluate customer data
Documenting customer inquiries, quality concerns, warranty issues, and feedback in internal systems
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers by delivering timely, effective solutions
Collaborating with internal teams to resolve customer issues and improve product support
Participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience
Working additional hours as needed to support business needs and meet deadlines
Continuously developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of products and applications
Delivering technical training to customers, representatives, and colleagues, both in person and remotely
Assisting in the development of written and multimedia materials for product training and user education
Provide feedback to product managers, salespersons, and engineers about product improvements
Provide support for R&D and science related projects
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering-related field
(Oceanography, Environmental Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or Computer/Data Science preferred)
3-5 years experience in a customer service or technical support related field
Experience with oceanographic instrumentation or research cruises
preferred
Must have a valid driver's license and a good motor vehicle driving record
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office
Basic knowledge of Windows network systems and serial communications protocols
preferred
Experience with integrated systems, PLCs, or industrial applications a

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. The compensation range for this role is $81,000 - $85,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $40,000 to $50,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
* Shall maintain military unit manning documents; coordinate all moves within the sector; accomplish personnel actions for processing. Provide weekly updates on the document, identify changes, errors (if any), and fix actions.
* Manage and track gains and losses in the unit. Report personnel fulltime strength and accountability to higher headquarters and provide situation reports on unit personnel strength and accountability to the Operations duty officer daily.
* Maintain and analyze statistical data of unit personnel authorized versus assigned and trained for status of reports and training (SORTs) reporting.
* Manage unit job announcements. Manage, generate, and advertise job announcements when vacancies occur within the organization. Collect applications; review for accuracy, provide guidance to selecting officials, and process forms for newly selected individuals. What we offer:
* Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated annual compensation for this position is $60,750. - 67,500. which includes a base salary of $45,000. - 50,000. and 100% on-target performance. Members of the sales function are eligible to participate in the UL Solutions Sales Incentive Plan. The annual target incentive for this position is 35% of the base salary, paid quarterly, and is contingent upon performance. Compensation is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors.

Safely operate restoration and landscape equipment such as brush cutters, chainsaws, backpack blowers, sprayers, ditch witch, tractors, and bobcats.
Assist with training and mentoring of crew members.
Promote and maintain safe working conditions in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Develop positive working relationships with managers, team members, and clients.
Show up on time, follow company dress/PPE guidelines, and complete daily assignments efficiently.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Frequent lifting, carrying, or moving up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working on uneven, narrow, or slippery surfaces.
Regular use of hands and tools requiring fine motor skills.
