Provides mental health services to victims of crime served by the Children's Justice Center. Implements mental health best practice services to fulfill national accreditation standards. Participates in multidisciplinary team protocols to represent the best interest of child victims using a victim centered and trauma informed approach. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree from accredited college or university in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling or other closely related field, and Licensed as a Certified Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Utah. Preference given to those with at least four (4) years of experience in a child related setting, with one (1) year of experience working with child victims, and one (1) year of counseling experience with youth. Required to successfully complete 40 hours of evidence-based trauma-informed training within six (6) months of hire according to national accreditation standards. A valid Driver's license issues by the State of Utah is required to operate a vehicle. Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must successfully pass a criminal background check as well as every two years thereafter and continuously meet the requirements of the Bureau of Criminal Information (BCI). The Youth Engagement Specialist develops and/or conducts specialized programs for residents ages 2-23, implementing plans developed by the residents and Resident Services staff. Assists in monitoring outcomes of programs and makes adjustments as needed. Collaborates with community partners involved in program development and service provision. Coordinate all phases of implementing programs at the site. Establish and maintain linkages with neighborhood and community providers to maximize utilization of resources. Experience planning and implementing programs. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with disadvantaged youth. College level coursework and/or teaching experience in a related field a plus. Be flexible, resourceful, creative, and able to take initiative. Basic computer skills: Word required, Excel, Publisher, and Internet desired. Provide direct counseling services, consultation to ecclesiastical leaders, community resource development and referral, and support to other staff, while working under clinical supervision to obtain independent licensure. As approved, provide program supervision, ecclesiastical outreach, and professional training to other staff. Provide quality customer service and comply with policy, licensing requirements, and professional standards of practice. If position is categorized as on-call or part-time working hours are not to exceed 19 hours per week. Masters' degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology or related degree that leads to clinical licensure Associate, Intermediate/Interim license is required (ASW/CSW/MFT) Obtain independent practice license within 3-5 years Demonstrate basic clinical skills and receptiveness to feedback.
