This position is located within the Mid-Atlantic Distribution Center is responsible for unloading and loading of fruit at our warehouse. The incumbent provides a wide variety of support to the entire DC. This includes discharge and receiving of product. The successful candidate will he/she must be forward thinking, organized, efficient and self-motivated to complete responsibilities in a timely manner without direct instruction. The Warehouse Operator is responsible for supporting operations by moving, organizing, and distributing bulk packaging and other materials. This individual is expected to work closely with the Packaging Coordinator and warehouse team to follow all processes using a continuous improvement mentality and will work to perpetuate “Creekstone Proud” culture though attitude and actions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Unload packaging materials (corrugate, bags, film, labels) daily and put away in designated areas. Assist in inventory counts weekly and enter such data on inventory spreadsheets. Assist in placing orders for materials below minimum inventory levels from approved suppliers. Resolve all packaging issues with assistance from the coordinator with the appropriate vendor. Create part numbers and stocking locations for new packaging materials. Unload trailers with electric/ propane forklifts and pallet jacks to support operation's packaging requirements. Record delivered goods in the receiving verification log. Assist with accounts payable to resolve any invoice issues. Ensure stocking areas are replenished daily (bags, boxes, film, etc.). Daily housekeeping of packaging storage and unloading areas. Inform Packaging Coordinator and Purchasing Manager of any current or potential issues. Assist with the annual cycle count. Receive materials inbound to the Warehouse as needed. Research opportunities to reduce costs on existing materials. All other duties that support the Warehouse as assigned by Purchasing Manager. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Forklift operating experience preferred. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Functional with basic office software - Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Internet navigation, etc. Superb professionalism in all forms of communication at all times. The warehouse worker is responsible for picking orders, palletizing, loading and unloading products and/or cases, and working any station or line that is assigned. The order assembly picker/loader works anywhere in the Load-out/Cooler areas that may be assigned. Responsible for pulling products for customer orders. Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment (when certified). May use hand-held tracking device Mark the paperwork properly when making adjustments for product shortages. Keep accurate records on load sheets, inventory sheets, scrap sheets, and computerized equipment. Ensure proper code date rotation. Report any mechanical problems such as bad wearstrips, plugged or missing lube nozzles, spacer stop malfunctions, palletizer malfunctions or conveyor breakdowns. Report any product/packaging issues. Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production. Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's. Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area. Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc. Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately. Perform other duties as assigned.
