California Energy Commission (CEC) is hiring an Energy Data Framework Specialist in the Data Integration Branch of the Energy Assessments Division (EAD). The position is within the DataCollection Analysis Unit and considered an Electric Generation System Specialist I (EGSS I) state classification.
Our Energy Data Framework Specialist will perform analytical work on the topics of energy cost frameworks, historical energy use, end-use surveys, energy consumption and economic and demographic data sets and information regarding energy use in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
The Energy Data Framework Specialist will coordinate with state stakeholders such as California Public Utilities Commission, CAISO, and California Air Resource Board on various projects. Our Data Collection Analysis Unit is responsible for implementing EAD's data strategy, using the latest data science tools and methodologies to inform stakeholders of relevant insights and developments.
** Telework option is available, but hired candidate must reside in California before starting.

Experience working with RDBMS and Non-RDBMS databases like file systems
Strong Advanced SQL Querying.
Python experience is a plus.
Ability to work in team environment and client interfacing skills.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.

Will consider Research DataAnalyst I. Incumbent maintains, updates, and researches Caltrans District 5 and Central Region survey records utilizing latest Department software applications, including CADD software. The incumbent processes record requests from the public, local agencies, utility companies, and internal customers and supplies records to our customers.
Incumbent designs, develops and maintains geospatial databases using complex geographic information systems (GIS) methods and techniques for the Central Region and supports projects for other Capital Divisions within the Central Region. The incumbent will gather the information to populate these databases from Department geospatial, project management, and asset management databases as well as other authoritative sources. These databases can consist of both modern and legacy types.
Incumbent designs, develops and maintains geographic information systems (GIS) services utilizing the Departments Enterprise GIS system operated and maintained by the HQ GIS unit. Working in conjunction with the HQ GIS unit the incumbent will use journeyman knowledge of server based geographic information systems (GIS) to publish and create Internet based geographic information systems (GIS) web maps.
