The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Intern Position Summary
The Data Analytics Intern will work with the Data Analytics team. The Data Analytics team is tasked with providing state agencies and CSBS staff with useful data about the financial services companies regulated by state agencies and about the state regulatory agencies themselves. The team distributes analysis in the form of quarterly publications, as well as interactive dashboards that allow users to explore large volumes of data. The Data Analytics intern will gain experience creating web-based data gathering tools and planning for/implementing a modernized data analytics environment.

PRIMARY PURPOSE
CNA is hiring for Research Analysts to join their Advanced Technology Assessments (ATA) division. Staff at this level will be leading smaller/less complex activities or will be serving as an important contributing team member on projects.
As part of the Department of the Navy's Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC), CNA's Advanced Technology Assessments (ATA) division provides analysis that evaluates the military utility and efficacy of emerging defense technologies and prototypes, operational test and evaluation of DoD programs of record, and tactics development and resourcing decisions for existing naval aircraft.
Analyses from ATA help the Navy make data-informed resourcing, training, and modernization decisions for new and existing defense technologies, with a focus on naval aircraft. Our research supports defense innovation programs to ensure operational effectiveness and lethality and to maintain the technological superiority of US military forces. ATA also contributes independent analyses to the testing of new aviation systems and the development of tactics to optimize the effectiveness of existing aircraft.
ATA Analysts typically work collaboratively with research staff from other research areas across the FFRDC.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Education: Minimum Master's degree in a relevant field, PhD preferred. Background in STEM preferred.

3. Skills:
Experience using programming tools for analyzing large datasets, performing numerical computations, and creating visualizations is preferred. Relevant tools include Python, R, and MATLAB.

Some amount of travel is expected to meet with clients and sponsors outside of the greater Washington, DC area.
5. Other: Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Security Clearance. TS/SCI Clearance eligibility is preferrable.

Intern Position Summary
The Product & Solutions Intern will contribute to the ongoing modernization of the NMLS platform by supporting critical operational and data-validation activities. Intern Position Summary
The Data Services Intern will work with the Data Services Team, headed by the Chief Data Officer (CDO). The Data Services team implements the policies of the Data Management Board (DMB) such as data modeling, data quality, and data governance. The team also performs hands-on technical work such as developing data pipelines and data integration, administering relational databases, and performing prototypes of emerging technology.
The summer intern will gain experience creating data models, analyzing data pipelines, conducting technology proofs of concept (POCs), and developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
Essential Functions
Analyze data flows in CSBS systems and databases.
Create conceptual and logical data models.
Streamline data engineering processes.
Learn industry standard practices for data quality analysis, data catalogs, and data classification.
Participate in POCs for data sharing APIs.
Education and Experience
Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience with data integration, such as extract, transform, loading (ETL), or application programming interfaces (API).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of data integration.
Ability to learn new technologies through self-directed learning and research.
Diagramming and writing.
Requirements
Due to the nature of CSBS's business in support of state financial services supervision, all CSBS employees have the potential of interacting with confidential information related to the supervision of financial services companies (“Confidential Supervisory Information”). As a result, in addition to general business conflicts of interest, all CSBS employees are expected to disclose conflicts of interest in financial services companies on at least an annual basis and to proactively avoid such conflicts.
