We are seeking a Distinguished Engineer to lead the next generation technical vision and architecture for our core database engine, for massive scalability, elasticity, and resilience at Teradata. Position Overview:
The Senior DevOps Database Developer / Administrator is primarily responsible for ensuring the availability and optimization of our production, development, and QA database infrastructure in both on-premises and cloud environments. As a member of the Database Operations Team the DBA will report to the manager of the Database Operations and will work with the team to provide technical expertise and guidance to multiple delivery teams in a DevOps environment.
Candidates must have deep experience with relational database design and development as well as databaseadministration tasks on the SQL Server platform. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintains the operations of a mixed Oracle database environment- single, RAC and DG, multi-tenant instances.
Maintains the operations of single Postgres and MSSQL databases
Perform regular maintenance of the databases including backups and restores and review of logs for errors or potential problems.
Regularly review space capacity and perform tasks to manage space usage through archiving or increasing disk space
Collaborate with other operational Oracle DBAs, developers, infrastructure teams and external customers to resolve problems with application/database systems.
Installation, Configuration, Upgrading and Patching of databases and related products
Develop and implement archiving, backup and recovery strategies
Ability to complete tasks and produce appropriate deliverables within project time schedules
Responsible for database monitoring, troubleshooting
