Job DescriptionSalary:
We are seeking a Professional Project Layout/Survey Engineer to join and strengthen our team!
Key Responsibilities include:
Prepare layout documents and computations associated with ALTA, Boundary and Topographic Surveys etc.
Prepare layout and As-built drawings and descriptions utilizing AutoCAD and other related software packages as directed.
Prepare and manage project schedule.
Prepares standard forms and communicates the project requirements and expectations.
Communicates and coordinates schedules with project team.
Reviews data and documents developed by team for accuracy and precision.
Analyzes data from various sources, e.g., traditional field survey, point cloud, GIS, etc. to develop and prepare plans and reports.
Provide construction-related services including correspondence with team, construction plan interpretation, point data extraction, stakeout reviews, etc.
Review applicable reference materials and location specific statutes and requirements and communicates knowledge with teammates and clients.
Review and evaluate project documentation, e.g., field notes, title work, surveys, property descriptions, etc.
Qualifications Include:
Minimum 3 years experience
Experience using levels, conventional total stations, robotic instruments, surveying equipment while collecting field survey data for different types of surveys.
Prior experience with 3D Scanning preferred.
Experience using Trimble GNSS and Survey Controller or tablet.
Knowledge and experience with Boundary Alta surveys.
Ability to work extended hours, including some weekends.
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and terrain conditions.
Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time.
Required to have a valid driver license with a clean driving record
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Identify and solve problems, and work well in a team environment.

You'll work under the guidance of our Steel Fabrication Manager to help prepare and review drawings, learn industry standards, and support our steel fabrication projects from start to finish.
This is a great opportunity for someone with basic drafting or CAD training who wants to gain hands-on experience in the steel construction industry.
What You'll Do
Assist with preparing and updating shop drawings based on contract documents
Learn to read and interpret construction drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel
Help check drawings for accuracy and completeness before they are sent for approval or fabrication
Enter and maintain drawing updates in our project files
Support coordination between detailing, fabrication, and field teams
Participate in training to learn company and industry detailing standards
Perform basic measuring and data collection tasks during site visits (with supervision)
Carry out other entry-level duties as assigned to support the Project Manager and subcontractors
What You'll Bring
Basic understanding of drafting principles; construction knowledge is a plus but not required
Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SDS/2, or Tekla a plus, but not required - training provided)
Strong attention to detail, a positive “can-do” attitude, and an eagerness to learn
Good communication and teamwork skills
Experience
2-4 year college degree required

What You'll Do

Put together clear trade scopes of work and backup documentation for review
Reach out to subcontractors and suppliers, review their bids, and make sure everything lines up and stays competitive
Develop options and recommend the best value based on cost, quality, engineering, and materials
Build and keep strong relationships with owners, consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
Support the operations team on awarded jobs- from pricing change orders to resolving contract issues
Work with our proposal coordinator to pull together complete proposals (schedules, write-ups, org charts, etc.)
Develop conceptual proposals to support business development

What You'll Bring
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with pre-construction and estimating software
Strong understanding of estimating methods, cost control, and conceptual estimating
Ability to put together accurate proposals with minimum supervision
Clear communication skills - both written and verbal - to explain inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications with owners and subcontractors
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on key priorities
Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred

Key Responsibilities:
Providing overall on site management of construction projects from start to finish and ensure timely completion within budget.
Coordinate the work of the subcontractors at the job site.

Requirements:
Four (4) year construction related degree preferred and minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Superintendent on commercial, industrial or healthcare projects.
Complete understanding of plans and specification.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple trades and supervise a large group of people.
Extensive construction scheduling experience.
Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills are required.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office applications is a must.
Ability to maintain positive attitude with a high level of personal pride and professionalism.
