The employee in this classification must possess previously acquired knowledge and skill in supervisory techniques and methods prior to assuming the position. WHAT YOU'LL DO: * Assigns work to technicians and manages the jobs while in the shop. * Communicates with shop supervisor and customers as job progresses. * Assist Shop Supervisor with opening and closing work orders and sees that customer is invoiced correctly. * Responsible for a timely flow of work through the build process making sure deadlines are met. * Responsible for overall quality coming out of the shop & seeing that all quality control sheets are filled out in their entirety. * Assist with coaching of staff and managing resources to achieve company goals in the area of employee and customer satisfaction, market share and profitability. * Understand reference materials and a comprehensive understanding of financial coding processes. * Responsible for loading and unloading of Rental equipment or components. * Assist Shop Supervisor and PSSR's in quote & adder process. * Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations. * Responsible to mentor team members. * Ensure safety policies and procedures in the shop are adhered to. * In-depth knowledge of company's products, policy and procedures. * Pro-actively establish effective relationships and support others in achieving high performance. * Fill in as the Shop Supervisor on an as needed basis. * Complete all assigned training in a timely and proficient manner. * Must be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tooling to perform duties * Other duties may be assigned. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: * Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one year to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * A technical background related field is required. * Must possess hands on knowledge in most areas of responsibility. * Knowledge of CAT DBS Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems; MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Office Suite Word Processing software. * Must be at least 21 to be assigned and operate field vehicle * Successfully complete Work steps assessment. * Will be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift. * May require MSHA certification Other Skills and Abilities. * Flexibility to work other schedules including shift work, required overtime and on call. * Must be certified in air-conditioning.
