Coordinate and assist in setting up and breaking down stations designated by the manager. Cook and otherwise prepare foods according to recipes and directions. Responsible for use of accurate portions when preparing and serving items on the line. Maintain daily temperature logs Responsible for taking samples of all food items on the line prior to serving the customers. Alert management and pull food items that do not meet quality expectations. Complete opening and closing station checklists Greet customers as they approach and leave the serving line Ask customers about the quality of their service and handle any complaints while maintaining a positive attitude and smile. Coordinate and assist in maintaining a clean work station (including floors, work areas, equipment, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks) Ensures that all work areas and serving utensils are cleaned and sanitized Responsible for accurate disposal of waste from the service line Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by cart. Assist with daily safety observations and report safety hazards discovered in the location to management immediately Cross-train in areas as the need arises Able to work in concessions, catering, and special events required by your manager Perform task as requested by your manager on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis Completion of any task requested by a supervisor or member of the Aramark management team. Lead all aspects of and advise the employees working on the line to?ensure timely and effective service of the customers. Request support from utility workers?for sanitation issues of the line as needed.     JOB TITLE: Child Nutrition Assistant WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Child Nutrition DEPT./SCHOOL Campus Assigned DATE REVISED: June 2025 PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for preparing appropriate quantities of food to meet menu requirements and maintaining high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Ability to understand instruction for food preparation and safety procedures Special Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production Understand and practice proper production techniques including batch cooking to provide high quality attractive food products Experience: Experience in an institutional food service facility preferred MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Prepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested uniform recipes. Supervise the storage and care of food items and supplies; put groceries away upon delivery. Maintain a clean and organized storage area including walk in cooler and freezer area. Understand and practice proper food safety and sanitation techniques by monitoring food temperatures, keeping food products out of the danger zone, and maintaining clean and sanitary work stations. Care for and use equipment in safe and efficient manner. Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies, and procedures. Maintain garbage collection containers and areas in a neat, clean, and sanitary fashion. Dispose of trash by taking it to outside receptacle. Keep work area clean; including daily sweeping and mopping Follow established procedures to ensure standards of cleanliness, health and safety. Handle and record cashier functions accurately. Assist in recording food requisitions and request orders of necessary supplies. Maintain personal appearance, hygiene and proper uniform at all times. Promote teamwork and interaction with fellow staff members. Promote a positive attitude at all times with fellow staff members Be committed to providing high quality nutritious meals at assigned campus cafeteria. Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at designated work site on regular daily basis according to established work schedule. Must be able to sweep, mop, dispose of trash, and put groceries away when delivered. Attend training classes and summer workshops as assigned. Assist in building a supportive team culture by promoting peer mentoring and shared learning experiences during onboarding. Must be able to perform all responsibilities and duties of the job. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
