Job Responsibilities: Responsible for a variety of duties necessary for the operation of the food service department including taking patients orders based on prescribed menu, preparing food items and assembling prepared foods for patient trays. Also responsible for clean-up in kitchen and dining room, including dish washing. May accept delivery of dietary supplies including inspection of products to ensure freshness and accuracy of delivery. Also assists in the rotation of food stores and monitors food expiration dates. Must have the ability to follow recipes and help cook when needed. This position requires flexibility to work varying shifts. Shifts will be a combination of the following timeframes: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM and 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM. The overall purpose of the Nutrition Services Aide position is to aid in the delivery of Nutrition Services. This position may prepare and/or serve food items, prepare tables and trays, wash tableware and cooking items, perform general cleaning tasks and deliver soiled linen to the laundry department.

Weekends and Days off will rotate - must be able to work both 5 AM - 1:30 PM Shift as well as 11 AM - 7:30 PM Shift. These shifts will be rotating. Assists with preparation and service of food using proper food handling and food safety techniques for patients, employees and special events, resulting in foods that taste good, are served at the proper temperature, and in an attractive manner in accordance with established standards. Maintains a clean and safe working environment in accordance with established standards. Other duties include: Taking out the trash, Ensuring the availability of clean dishes, utensils, and glassware, delivering food to the patient floors, restocking items, cleaning appliances and machines. sweeping and mopping floors. Document temperature readings of the dish machine during each shift. Pay: Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Qualifications: Experience as a Prep Cook or Cook preferred, but not required. Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in detail. Food safety certifications as required by jurisdiction. (ServSafe) Work alongside Cooking staff to prep for daily meal service. Desired Qualifications: Experience in healthcare foodservice desired.
