The overall purpose of the Culinary Associate position is to prepare meals and snacks for residents within guidelines of the facility. Demonstrate responsibility for the food service operation in the absence of the Dietary Manager. Wash and sanitize dishes according to foodservice standards. Prepare sanitation sink according to directions and monitors and documents sanitizing solution levels. Operate the dishwashing process in an organized fashion. After food is served, keep dirty dishes running through the dish machine until all dishes are clean and ready for the next meal. Assure all freezers and refrigerators are maintained at proper temperatures and the temperatures are documented. Present a clean and neat appearance which includes but is not limited to wearing aprons, hair nets, and other protective clothing as necessary. Collect and place garbage and trash in designated containers. Job DescriptionLodge of the Wabash is recruiting a Full-time Cook and Part-time Cook for every other weekend. Nursing Home experience preferred but not required. The Cook works under the direction of the Dietary Manager and prepares meals and snacks per the facility menu for facility residents. The Dietary Cook's primary duties include preparing and cooking family style meals for residents of skilled nursing facility. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of non-supervisory employees in the absence of the Dietary Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Required Skills and Abilities: Prior experience preferred but not necessary.
