Minimum Qualifications

Principal Accountabilities
Role of Clinical Expert
Develops and assists in the implementation of nursing care plans and standards specific to the age/needs of the patient/population served.
Assists and provides direction to nursing staff with clinical decision-making and priority setting; models excellence in nursing practice through the utilization of advanced concepts in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of perceived, actual or potential problems that occur in a variety of patient populations.
Functions as a facilitator and innovator for state-of-the-art nursing care with direct involvement in implementing and evaluating new techniques and equipment for safety, cost-effectiveness, and benefits related to nursing practice.
Completes history and physical on patients as indicated; writes medical orders per established protocols; provides approved clinical services, including removal of sutures, and complex wound care.

If a child or children are allowed overnight visits with staff, the children must be properly fed, lodged and supervised, and their health, safety, and well-being protected. The person responsible for the child must be given information about obtaining emergency medical care.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or G.E.D. required with two years' experience working with troubled resident as a para-professional, volunteer or intern in a social service, residential, educational or institutional setting, or two years' college credit (30 credits) preferred and six months' experience with troubled resident. Any educational or experiential qualifications to be considered as equivalent, in lieu of the above minimums will require prior approval from the Executive Director or designee. Must be 21 years or older. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Additional Required Experience
Must possess excellent organizational, writing, analytical, and processing skills. Should be able to perform conflict resolution or crisis intervention and have excellent communication skills. Job Description
The Childcare Provider is responsible for maintaining all records, attendance and time sheets. Completes assessments of all infants and children as assigned. Some evenings required. No smoking workplace
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensures there are adequate supplies of baby food and baby goods on shift.
Maintains daily and open communication with parents.
Adheres to federal confidentiality regulations.
Receives eight (8) hours of training per year on Child Development (CD) and its impact on families, child development, child health and safety, child supervision, universal precautions and signs of child abuse.
Documents the Child Service Weekly Report daily by recording the child's:
Attendance

Complete the Small Talk sheet daily to capture daily activities related to the child's behavior (i.e. snacks, diaper changes, activities, etc) and provide to the parent at pickup.
Completes annual training in Blue Basin on the following topics: AIDS, HIV, STD, TB, Hepatitis, and universal precautions.
Follows oral and written instructions from manager and written instructions from parents, when applicable.
Ensures that children are isolated from other children when sick until the parent can pick the child up.
Ensures children are contained in designated areas, away from the areas designated for clients.
Ensures that the childcare areas are properly cleaned and sanitized in accordance with Santa Maria Hostel's guidelines.
Maintains accident and incident reports.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience in and/or training clinical aspects of the job; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires skills in child and infant care.
Certificates and Licenses:
Maintains CPR, Infant CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid certifications. Current Prevention Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) training required.
Approval Requirements:
Position requires approval from Federal Bureau of Prisons to work with federal clients, if applicable. Also requires approval from Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to work in TDCJ-funded programs, if applicable.

Key Responsibilities:
Teach, monitor, administer and document individual patient programs including ADL's and therapeutic home programs in English.
Perform bed, bath, toilet, and chair transfers (up to 20 times per shift) using approved transfer techniques.
Ensure for the safety of patients, visitors, staff, and yourself when interacting with patients who may have behavioral outbursts, which can include yelling, exiting, hitting, kicking, biting, spitting, scratching, and throwing objects.
Job Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
Required to have a valid Driver's License, with a clean a driving record
Successful completion of a drug screen, health screen, and criminal record check (fingerprints) for caregiver positions.
