The Edgewater Beach Co-op or Apartments, built in 1927, is the only part of the hotel complex to survive and is a Chicago Landmark and part of the Bryn Mawr Historic District where many Art Deco buildings can be found.
All that remains is the Edgewater Beach Apartments, built in 1928 as part of the original hotel complex.
Edgewater Beach Apartments opened in 1928 as a cosmopolitan, upscale alternative to huge mansions for Chicago’s wealthy elite.
EBA separated from the broader hotel complex in 1949 and became an independent cooperative, which it remains today.
It wasn’t until 1951 that it became open to the general public for all to enjoy.

Edgewater Beach Resort Management, Inc. began doing business as Resort Collection in 2008.
