**Description**
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing, leads the development and implementation of the category profile and strategy for assigned categories in collaboration with stakeholders across the Emory community that meet their business needs and create value for the University; this includes creating an internal profile, external profile, recommended strategic direction for the category, discrete value creation opportunities and methods to achieve the cost reduction opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Develops, executes and manages sourcing events and supplier negotiations leading to contract award in collaboration with stakeholders across the Emory community.
+ Leads the implementation of awarded contracts including supplier enablement and buying channel enablement; in collaboration with Marketing and Communications resources, guides the development of stakeholder communications to support the implementation.
+ Manages on-going supplier relationships for assigned categories in collaboration with stakeholders across the Emory community.
+ Create and execute procurement strategies aligned with Procurement and Support Services' goals.
+ Conducts a Quarterly Business Review working sessions with key suppliers and key stakeholders and completes the annual supplier evaluation process and executes formal supplier development plans based on supplier performance and stakeholder input.
+ On-going category management activities include serving as the lead for a cross-functional strategic team that includes representation from internal customers, finance and suppliers to drive continuous improvement in the assigned categories; developing/strengthening internal customer relationships for assigned categories; serving as the point person for issue escalation and resolution relating to suppliers, pricing, continuous improvement and contract/agreement interpretation; driving contract compliance; providing relevant reports to stakeholders to provide transparency and opportunities for improvements.
+ Performs related responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field and three years of procurement, business management or related experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or equivalent strongly preferred.
+ Knowledge of the overall purchasing process, strategic sourcing, and procurement related systems and supplier relationship management.
+ Strong analytical and quantitative modeling skills including the ability to structure, collect, analyze, and communicate internal/external data or information in an organized manner.
+ CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) preferred.
+ Strong project management skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills (verbal and non-verbal communications, listening skills, negotiation, problem solving, decision making and assertiveness) and presentation skills.
+ Strong written communication skills.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing coordination and/or collection of relevant financial data to prepare and interpret financial reports for management in an accurate and timely manner. This position provides maintenance/updates as necessary to ensure the integrity of assigned financial systems and databases. This position provides oversight of charge specialists ensuring timely and accurate charge capture and correction of revenue resulting from hospital services.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Hires, trains, conducts performance evaluations, and supervises the workflow for designated charge staff within department. This includes initiating promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. This includes establishing priorities, workloads, controls and work procedures, as well as determines resources needed. Provides oversight and coordination for charge staff who have direct reporting lines to operational leaders.
2. Gathers data from various sources to document and analyze statistics and financial information necessary to complete projects in assigned area. Generates various monthly or bi-weekly financial reports or ad hoc reports that enable management to control and analyze operations.
3. Works with management and staff of various departments to assist with financial data gathering and/or interpretation. Ensures accuracy of financial information systems and maintenance of reporting. Ensures the integrity of statistical files and databases used for financial reporting.
4. Works with other analysts to manage key financial processes within the organization (including operating budgets, forecasts program reporting and analysis, charge management, cost accounting, decision support and reimbursement analysis).
5. Provides financial modeling resources for special projects assigned to the department by management for analysis.
6. Prepares timely and accurate reports and presentations for state and federal agencies, administration and corporate to satisfy mandated reporting requirements policy, law or management. Maintains accurate statistical, contractual or other financial databases, as assigned.
7. May serve as Cost Center/Program CFO (as assigned), which includes the initiation and assistance in identification and implementation of operating improvements and efficiencies by identifying important trends and variances through the review of management reports and financial analysis. Educates users of the assigned financial reporting system on the utilization of reports and the functionality of those reports.
8. Works with management and staff of various departments to assist with data gathering and/or interpretation. Ensures accuracy of information systems and maintenance of reporting. Ensures the integrity of statistical files and databases used for financial and other business reporting purposes.
9. Provides leadership, direction and training for staff reporting to operation leaders; audits and resolves work process problems. Uses specialized knowledge to analyze information and solve business problems. Works independently under general supervision. Provides management with accurate and timely information necessary to effectively manage financial operations for revenues in excess of $300m annually. Consults internally with Department Directors, Administration, Data Operations, Financial Services Department Personnel and Banner Health System personnel. Works with State governmental agencies, colleagues as other healthcare facilities, professional organizations and outside vendors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
Requires a proficiency level typically attained with 3 to 4 years of experience in healthcare financial management/analysis work. Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with changing needs and deadlines. Requires excellent human relations skills and the ability to effectively interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels staff and outside professionals.
Requires strong abilities in statistical analysis, data interpretation, computer software applications, database and spreadsheet programs, plus a proficiency in financial modeling techniques to generate management reports, projections, allocations, and analyses.

Oversees all aspects of the revenue cycle from charge capture to account resolution for assigned client practices. Responsible for all staff assigned to the client that is under his or her supervision. Has strong working knowledge of the revenue cycle and coordinates a wide range of administrative duties involved in the resolution of client accounts receivable. Supervise staff responsible for maintaining and updating the Chargemaster to comply with federal and state regulations as well as internal hospital policies. Perform complex coding and compliance reviews to ensure chargemasters are updated appropriately and staff are charging appropriately for services.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for reviewing compliance regulations and coding requirements (primarily Medicare) and incorporates these changes into the tasks/projects the team is working on.
* Educates team and/or Department Managers on compliance and coding regulations.
* Coordinates with team and/or Department Managers to set up new departments or procedures being performed. Ensure the charges are set up appropriately and timely in the Chargemaster and the staff responsible for entering charges is educated.
* Assists in the development of Hospital System Policies relating to charge entry, documentation requirements and developing new charge items.
* Helps with annual audit plan and conducts audits to assure all documented charges are being captured and performs audits to review the charges are being billed correctly on the claim.
* Coordinates with billing to resolve any denial issues related to the Chargemaster.
* Provides direct oversight of Chargemaster Analyst(s) work product for established quality and performance standards.
* Assists Management in other projects and analyses.
REQUIRED:
* B.S. degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or 10+ years' experience.
* Must have a coding or nursing credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, RN) or a financial background.
* Must have minimum of 5-8 years Chargemaster experience.
