The successful applicant will provide technical assistance for our water resources projects. Many of our projects serve public sector clients, which requires a high level of service and quality. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the Virginia Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) stormwater program, including Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) and Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) compliance. ERT is seeking a Meteorologist to support the Early Warning Systems Project at NOAA's Climate Prediction Center (CPC) at the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). The position focuses on developing tools to improve sub-seasonal and seasonal forecasts of extreme climate events and works with core partners to develop and implement early warning systems in the developing world. Welcome Desk Host * As needed, staffs the front desk of the Nature Center during open hours on Saturday and Sunday. * Answers visitors' questions on trails, park rules, and programs at Brookside Nature Center and Maydale Nature Classroom. * Works with front desk volunteers to make Brookside Nature Center an enjoyable and welcoming place for all visitors. * Ensures indoor and outdoor spaces are clean, organized, and safe for visitors at the start and end of each day. * Communicates with visitors, program participants, volunteers, and co-workers courteously and accurately. About the Role The Outreach Forester, Family Forest Carbon Program (FFCP), builds relationships with and provides direct technical assistance to landowners interested in the FFCP. This role ensures a positive experience and excellent stewardship of landowners involved in Improved Forest Management (IFM) and Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation (ARR) practices of the Family Forest Carbon Program. First and foremost, this role will provide top-notch “customer service” and management information/options to landowners. The Outreach Forester works collaboratively with the regional Senior Forestry Manager, Director and the rest of the carbon supply team to plan projects for interested landowners and provide post-enrollment technical assistance.
