Friends Homes company history timeline
Founded by the North Carolina Yearly Meeting of the Society of Friends (Quakers) in 1958, Friends Homes is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to meeting the needs of adults age 62 and over.
In 1968, Friends Homes opened its first 24 apartments for seniors on New Garden Road.
As demand grew for Friends Homes’ services, a second community, Friends Homes West, was built on the same property and opened in 1993.
