+ Own supplier technical relationships; mentor suppliers on GE Aerospace processes, specifications, and methods; ensure compliance and capability.
+ Lead cross-functional problem solving, to identify true root cause and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
+ Improve manufacturability through design-for-casting, specification clarity, and process capability improvements.
+ Clearly communicate progress, risks, challenges, and countermeasures to leadership and stakeholders.
+ Review and approve significant/special processes; ensure adherence to standards and qualification requirements.
+ Collaborate with Quality and Design Engineering to ensure new and changed processes meet established metrics; align with other commodities on strategy and objectives
+ Partner with suppliers and internal teams to interpret drawings/specifications, ensuring conformance and clarity.
+ Identify and onboard new suppliers; lead technical qualifications and readiness through Manufacturing and Quality Planning reviews and support supplier Castings Audits.
+ Ability to travel to supplier sites 30%-50%
**Minimum Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Materials/Metallurgy, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
+ Minimum of 5 years of materials engineering, castings, mechanical engineering or a related field
**Desired Characteristics and Experience**
+ Additive manufacturing experience.
+ Metal Injection Molding (MIM) experience.
+ Proficiency with Siemens NX or comparable CAD.
+ Sand Castings Experience.
+ Titanium Experience.
+ Significant experience in investment castings (SX or equiax), with demonstrated yield, capability, and cost improvements
+ Hands-on expertise across investment casting special processes (wax, shell, melt/solidification control, heat treat, HIP, NDT) and specification compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities:
The GE Aviation Thermal Technology Labs are responsible for experimental evaluation of aerodynamic and thermodynamic performance on turbomachinery components in support of all GE Aviation engine programs, as well as development of advanced aerothermal measurement techniques.
There are 3 primary functions in the Thermal Technology Labs:
Early TRL evaluation of heat transfer and cooling performance of combustors, turbines, and exhaust components
Evaluation of thermal performance of fielded products
Development of advanced aero and thermodynamic experimental measurement techniques
In the role of Technician - Thermal Technology Lab, you will be responsible to work with engineers in component test evaluation efforts within the Thermal Technology Lab, with core responsibilities to include:
Support design of pilot test apparatus
Own the procurement, build-up, sealing, instrumentation, assembly and article preparation of lab test rigs
Independently run lab tests and perform necessary data checks to ensure data quality
Support hardware and software architecture of Data Acquisition Systems
Interface with internal and external shops and vendors, internal functions, and facilities teams
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with test apparatus.
Coordinate and work closely with teammates to execute lab team objectives
Assist the staff contributor or manager in planning work activity for the organization.
Ownership of development test documentation including facility, rig build, and data sets
Qualifications/Requirements
Associates Degree in a technical field (Comp Science, Aviation Maintenance, Math, Physics) or a high school diploma / GED with 1 year of relevant aviation or test experience.
Ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted.

Job Description

Welding Engineering Co-ops/Interns gain broad exposure to varied areas of the Aircraft Engine and Aviation systems business. With our co-op/intern rotational program, students will work in a different area and at a different GE Aerospace site each co-op/intern rotation to ensure optimal learning and diverse work experiences. Ultimately, you'll be placed taking your preferences into account while also considering your major, year of schooling, and business needs the time.

The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a SkillBridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member's suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.
**Job Description**
Provides technical assistance in all aspects of the setup, de-prep and testing of development engines.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Interface with external organizations & internal supporting functions; coordinates the efforts of project team members in order to accomplish overall goals
+ Act as a project leader on specific tasks within the Development Engine Test
+ Facilitate interaction of staff members with each other and external organizations
+ Periodically prepare and implement supporting work plans
+ Coordinate, direct, and coach the activities of project team members
+ Assist the cell owner, team leader, or manager in planning work activity for the organization
+ Participate in Cell / Lab Safety Deep Dives & PQA Audits
+ Responsible for overall safety & operational readiness of the test cells
+ Defining / Maintaining area Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and other operating / safety practices and procedures
+ Support and perform work in compliance to all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies and regulations
+ Work under limited supervision while being proficient in troubleshooting, testing, assembly, disassembly and performing visual inspections
+ Periodically prepare and implement supporting work plans to update equipment to enhance test cell capabilities
+ Execute test on the control console (throttle, slave systems, FTS, A-log)
+ Perform signal checks / test preparation checks
+ Participate in Process Improvement projects
+ Perform inspections on engine and test equipment
Basic Qualifications:
+ Active Military Personnel on their last 180 days of Military Service
+ Associate's degree in an applicable technical discipline from an accredited school or institution {i.e. Aviation Maintenance, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Technology, Chemical Technology, etc.} Or a high school diploma / GED with two years of work experience in a manufacturing or testing environment
