The Body Shop Technician is responsible for repairing all assigned vehicles. Damaged vehicles should be restored to pre-accident condition, following the written repair order. The Body Technician plays a key role in delivering on our Collision promise of speed, quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Repair Planning: Approaches repair planning with a sense of urgency and detail to avoid waste and rework later in the process. De-trims and disassembles vehicles, putting parts on parts carts. Performs pre-pulls to make repair vs. replace decisions.
Parts Procurement: Assists in identifying and sourcing parts as necessary. Uses good judgment in determining when damaged parts can be safely repaired for cost and cycle-time savings. Helps maintain parts/materials carts in an organized manner.
Team Engagement & Problem-Solving: Knows status of own vehicles and is open to others' feedback on getting and keeping vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery. Helps problem-solve on vehicles assigned to other team members.
Vehicle Repair: Performs quality repairs without passing on defects. Meets or exceeds the Collision Center's requirements for productivity as measured by hours per day for each repair order. Follows all quality control processes and meets the return rate target.
Safe & Organized Workplace: Consistently utilizes all required safety equipment and follows proper repair procedures. Adheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal. Keeps personal work area organized and returns tools, materials and equipment to designated areas.

Responsibilities:
Diagnosing and repairing equipment problems relating to mechanical, electrical.
Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition
Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
Specialize in repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmissions and differentials, to include replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components etc.
Communicate directly with manager so customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Requirements:
Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience repairing and maintaining equipment or be a trade school graduate
Automotive experience preferred, but not required
Basic welding skills preferred
Strong teamwork skills
Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs and able to bend, squat, crouch, reach as job requires

JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Service Technician balances a passion for people, a broad technical expertise, excellence in retail practices, and supports their teammates in the shop. A Lead Service Technician is the front line and point person for our brand to the rider and encourages successful, profitable retail by taking their technical expertise to the next level as a driver of outstanding in store brand experiences. A Lead Service Technician works directly with team and riders, both present and remote, to identify and locate the goods, services, and experiences needed to provide solutions quickly and frictionlessly to keep them riding longer and better. All Service Technicians work collaboratively and hands-on with staff and local riders as a host, mentor, brand advocate, and technical service ace.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Meeting and making a connection with riders, asking qualifying questions and listening to riders' needs, then giving options and advice on meeting those needs from a pre-set service menu or tune ups and a la cart service.
Speak authoritatively on technical matters as they relate and pertain to our bicycles; be the expert
Assists customers in an enthusiastic and courteous manner; provides “wow” customer service.
Responsible for properly taking in all service work and setting and exceeding rider expectations, including correctly filling out service work orders, scheduling an appropriate number of repairs
Advises and assists customers with their product/service selection without bias.
Develops and maintains knowledge expertise of all merchandise in department to effectively assist customers with accurate information; keeps current as new product lines are introduced.
Assists with bike sales with technical consulting, and any other bike floor duties as needed.
Deliver best in class rider-service that ensures ongoing service and high levels of rider satisfaction
General cleanliness standards are set at store opening, maintained throughout the day, and reset at close of business, including light janitorial duty
Proficiency in Lightspeed point of sale systems and store operational websites
Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
Conduct opening and closing responsibilities when store when manager is absent

**Responsibilities**
Lead a team of service technicians based upon a specified geographic area or project/customer assignment to respond the customer's need for service and maintenance of equipment through maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning system commonly installed in supermarkets, convenient stores and cold storage facilities.

+ Coordinate technical support, guidance, and training to service technicians.

+ Manage truck inventory. Orders, receives, bills out and maintains parts responsibly with a minimum of waste. Manages assigned vehicle within all company guidelines. Maintains a clean vehicle, performs required maintenance on time.
+ Complete necessary documents and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate, professional and timely manner. Demonstrate the ability to utilize hand-held device to complete necessary paperwork and invoicing requirements.
+ Ability to systematically utilize mirror and flashlight to check all joints, install PVC drain pipe with minimal supervision, set and trim cases, install and adjust glass doors and frames, use temperature sensors, use brazing and soldering techniques, and determine proper coil layout in complex boxes.
+ Accurately identify pipe size and fittings by sight, perform system refrigerant and oil conversions and test oil during conversion and electric weld a variety of metals and joint types.
+ Identify, troubleshoot, and correctly size thermostatic expansion valves.
+ Working knowledge of pressure regulators as they pertain to pressurized gases, refrigerant flow controls, TEV troubleshooting and replacement, and tracing complex schematic diagrams.
+ Demonstrate understanding of low/high pressure oil systems, split condensing/low ambient controls, refrigerated equipment startup, EMS controls, CO2 refrigeration, new retail store refrigeration startup, air flow characteristics and testing, motor VFD's, all system defrost types, recovery setup, torch setup, compressor operating parameters, conventional refrigeration system layout, and parallel rack system layout, and advanced wiring diagrams.
+ Demonstrate a working knowledge of gauge, scale, recovery, ECM, shaded pole, PSC, three phase motors, compressor operating parameters, oil differential pressure valves and oil level controls, .
+ Detect and repair leaks on conventional systems and parallel racks, solder with copper-to-brass and copper to steel, conduct compressor diagnosis and replacements, troubleshoot and repair more complex service calls, check/adjust oil management system and compressor oil level control.
+ Serve as a mentor to other technicians and lead HVAC/R PM programs.
+ Additional responsibilities as assigned.

**Preferred level:** HVAC-R Technical School Degree
