Grant County Memorial Hospital (inc) company history timeline

1957

1957 and prior to - Silver City General Hospital

1958

Grant Memorial Hospital opened in April 1958 to provide inpatient and outpatient services to the citizens of the Upper South Branch Valley.

In 1958, an organization was formed by concerned citizens to help bring a hospital to Elbow Lake.

1969

1969 - Transferred from Town of Silver City to Grant County Ownership

1970

In 1970 Frank Tatsch, a local contractor, remodeled the facility to add Purchasing, Maintenance and Linen Departments.

1975

In 1975 the Berry Brothers built a new area for Medical Records and a Doctor's Lounge.

1976

In November of 1976, a proposal was passed by the citizens of Grant County to expand the limits of the Community Memorial Hospital to a countywide hospital, thus being sold to the county and becoming Grant County Hospital.

1983

On October 26, 1983, the facility was renamed.

1993

In 1993, the Grant County Hospital became the Grant County Health Center, which became a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation.

2002

In 2002 the hospital underwent another name change to ELEAH Medical Center, which symbolized the first letter of each town in which there was a clinic—Elbow Lake, Evansville, Ashby, and Hoffman.

2010

In May of 2010, ELEAH became Prairie Ridge Hospital and Health Services.

2014

In May of 2014, Prairie Ridge Hospital and Health Services in Elbow Lake moved into a new facility.

2017

In March of 2017 Prairie Ridge opened a new satellite clinic in Herman, bringing the number of our locations to six.

2019

GRMC Auxiliary volunteers - who celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2019 - will be the first to tell you about the rich history of GRMC.
