The work we do can be specialized and unique. The art director will critically review your work samples to make an assessment of whether the work you are presenting can extrapolate into our work. A curated sample deck is ideal, with examples of: logo design, typography, advertising layout, multiple page document layout, Photoshop and Illustrator skills, product photography (including postproduction), packaging, and product design. Any typographic illustration skills, a text-heavy piece, and any 3D modelling design are good to share too.. This recruitment will be used to fill four part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) GraphicDesigner positions for Recreational Sports at Oregon State University (OSU).
Student GraphicDesigners play a key role in serving both Recreational Sports and Student Experiences and Engagement. Working collaboratively with professional marketing staff, designers create engaging materials that promote Rec Sports and Student Experiences and Engagement facilities, programs and services to the campus community. Projects include both digital media (social media graphics, digital signage and email newsletters) and print media (posters, flyers and more).
This position offers a creative, supportive, and student-centered environment where designers are active contributors throughout the design process-from concept to implementation. Students gain hands-on experience, build a professional portfolio and develop skills that prepare them for future careers in design and marketing.

* Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study

Additional Required Qualifications
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

* Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain design concepts to non-designers.

* There is a strong preference for students enrolled in OSU's GraphicDesign Program.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Period of Employment: One academic year (continuing employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a 30 day probationary period and satisfactory job performance as evaluated by immediate supervisor). 10-15 Hours a week within the hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m Monday-Friday.
Compensation: Student employees are paid an hourly wage consistent with the OSU Student Employment Pay Rate Guidelines. The Department of Recreational Sports identifies pay ranges based upon job duties, level of responsibility and complexity of the work to be performed.
