Field Production: Handles audio, lighting and camera operation for events that take place in Washington or on the road and executes set-up and breakdown of equipment.
Program Producers: Develop specific live and taped public affairs programs that air on C-SPAN, C-SPAN2 and C-SPAN3. These programs include Q&A, international programming, politics and special projects.
3. Content/TV Networks: This department is responsible for getting C-SPAN's product on the air. The editorial, technical, and information systems staff work closely together to ensure quality, balanced programming.
Editorial: Develops the daily schedule, tracks House and Senate floor debate, and coordinates elements for the final programming that airs on C-SPAN. Script writing, voice-overs, and writing and choosing Capital News headlines are just some of the responsibilities of this unit.
Technical: Works around the clock and is responsible for all the technical aspects of getting C-SPAN and C-SPAN2 on air 24 hours-a-day, including program direction, master control, camera operation, lighting and sound, editing, and on-air promotions.
4. Information Systems: Responsible for C-SPAN's information technology infrastructure, including local and wide area networks, servers and desktops and all commercial and custom applications.
5. Digital Technology: Develops and implements our strategies in the areas of online services, audio products and other developing technologies.

Job Description:
The Internship program at COTA gives students and those seeking internships the opportunity to learn more about the live events industry. Interns experience a true hands-on work environment while assisting staff members with all aspects and responsibilities that go into producing all types of successful events COTA puts into production.
Circuit of the Americas is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented team player that knows how to balance networking and relationship building with the attention to detail that is required for successful execution of events.
This will be a paid, in-person internship with compensation.

Paid Internships at COTA:
COTA partners with several universities throughout the state. We believe there should be opportunity options for individuals who are seeking internships to gain experience and understanding in our industry.
Paid Internships are for college students that are looking to learn about COTA and gain work experience but do not have a class that requires an internship. This Internship can last up to a full semester per department.
Responsibilities:
Assist Ticket Managers with promoter for all concert events including event build and set-up
Aid in the processing and fulfilling of season and individual ticket orders
Aid in the maintenance of the customer database
Work collaboratively with other departments/clients to ensure efficient operations
Provide effective customer service
Help supervise box office staff for select events
Review or perform balancing, depositing and reporting of ticket office receipts, as required
Create and distribute ticket office sales reports
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum 2-3 days a week in office (15-25hrs/ week.) with a flexible schedule and ability to work weekends/evenings
Attention to detail and strong time management skills are a must
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

How You'll Support the Mission
As a PhD intern, you will:

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
* Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, NLP, Information Retrieval, or a related field.
* Strong research background in one or more areas: LLMs/GenAI, NLP, IR/Search, Recommender Systems, RL, Causal Inference, Optimization, Graph ML, or Representation Learning.
* Proficiency in at least one ML-oriented programming language or framework: Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow
* Experience handling large-scale datasets, distributed computing, or experimentation platforms.
* Ability to independently define research questions, design experiments, and synthesize findings.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in explaining complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
* Publications in machine learning, AI, NLP, IR, recommender systems, or related areas.
* Experience building or evaluating Conversational Systems, RAG systems, Fine-Tuning LLMs, Multiarm Bandits, and Reinforcement Learning.
