Role Overview
As a Bus Driver Substitute, you are responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of children, staff, and volunteers to and from Head Start centers, field trips, and other approved program activities. This position requires strict adherence to all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, as well as Head Start Program Performance Standards. As a Bus Driver Substitute, you have an essential role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive experience of children and families during transportation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety and Compliance: Safely operate the bus, following all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre and post trip inspections of the bus to confirm the bus is in good working condition.
2. Assistance with Loading/Unloading: Work collaboratively with the Bus Assistant to assist children during boarding, riding, and exiting the bus. Follow established procedures to ensure children are never left unattended on the bus.
3. Communication: Maintain clear lines of communication with parents/guardians regarding transportation schedules and any issues that may arise. Report any transportation-related concerns to the Bus Staff Supervisor.
4. Emergency Preparedness: Be familiar with emergency procedures to respond effectively in case of an emergency. Conduct bus evacuation drills with children and staff.
5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate child information paperwork, attendance records, route sheets, and pre/post trip certifications, and report accidents/incidents in a timely manner.
6. Collaboration: Address challenges that may arise between staff and/or parents/guardians in a respectful manner while maintaining confidentiality.
7. Professional Development: Actively participate in professional development and training opportunities, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Client Services
It is an essential function for the RDMS Ultrasound Tech/Consultant to be present on the work premise.
Perform client pregnancy tests and sign positive pregnancy test verification forms.
Perform limited obstetrical ultrasound (US) scans.
Interact regularly with the Women's Center staff, including volunteers, to coordinate smooth functioning of client referrals for Ultrasounds.
Follow up with each US client seen to share the physician's ultrasound results and encourage the client to obtain prenatal care or other care as directed by a physician.
Communicate any abnormal US results to Clinic Manager and Women's Center Manager and use physician-established protocols - before dismissing the client.

Maintain client charts in accordance with Privacy Practices and other medical requirements.
Provide mentoring support through the various educational and spiritual programs available at ENLC.
