Responsibilities Housekeeping Responsibilities: Clean public areas and resident apartments, including bathrooms, kitchens, patios & windows, floors, furniture, and common areas. Disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies. Stock cleaning cart with supplies. Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the proper disposal area(s). Work with Maintenance to ensure that the trash and dumpster areas are clean. Report resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly to Supervisor. Reports potentially unsafe conditions or maintenance-related issues promptly to Supervisor. May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned Server Responsibilities: Greet residents and guests at each table with a smile to serve beverages, cereals, and/or soups/salads. Courteously and clearly review the menu of the meal, take resident orders, and serve meals and desserts. Assist with storage of perishable items. If needed, deliver trays to resident rooms. Bus and clear dishes from tables after meals and reset for the next meal following proper sanitizing procedures for tables and chairs as outlined in the Food Service Guidelines. Vacuum carpets, etc. Complete side work - fill sugar holders, replenish creamers, clean coffeemaker, etc. May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned. Qualifications Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills. Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents. General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices. Ability to retain orders (up to four at one time). Strong organization and time management skills. Basic computer skills. Must successfully complete all Atria-specified training programs, including Serve Safe Certification. Able to operate cleaning equipment such as: iron, washer & dryer, brooms, mops, vacuums, etc. Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed and arrive to work on time. The Housekeeper will provide all services related to the cleaning of assigned facilities to assure an attractive and pleasant environment for all Wesley Commons' residents. include, but are not limited to: Performs diversified cleaning activities to include vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping, polishing and sanitizing in order to keep assigned residential and common areas clean and orderly. Removes all trash and litter from assigned areas. Cleans bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, stairwells, windows, blinds, and furniture as assigned. Qualifications Educational High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Professional Six months related work experience preferred. Must be able to understand and communicate in the English language. Must have transportation to be able to work in Independent Living area to get from location to location. Special Requirements Able to bend, squat, and reach overhead. Able to lift up to 25 lbs. and push heavy equipment at one-hour intervals without a rest. Able to perform manual and sometimes strenuous labor. Able to walk or stand for extended periods of time. Demonstrates verbal, non-verbal, and written and skills necessary for effective communication. Able to handle the different emotions associated with resident and their families. Evidence of professional manner and conduct. Optimal physical and emotional health. Adequate speech and hearing to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff. Maintain cleaning schedules for assigned area Coordinating routine/terminal isolation procedures with Nursing Services Maintain knowledge of safety regulations, policies and procedures and following the established safety procedures and precautions Reporting all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to supervisor immediately Honoring the residents' personal and property rights Filing complaints/grievances with supervisor in a timely fashion Laundry Aide Essential Functions Laundry Aide will follow established policies/procedures of laundry tasks Use proper protocols for picking up soiled linens, including isolation linens, and transporting them to the laundry department Use proper protective clothing/equipment while performing laundry duties Laundry Aide will maintain all cleaning schedules for each assigned area and following the laundry department schedules Maintain the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights, privacy and property are protected at all times Report and document resident and/or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints or allegations according to the facility's policy and procedure using the designated occurrence reporting systems. Qualifications Housekeeper Requirements/Qualifications: Housekeeper must have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective housekeeping practices within the State of employment.
