Program Summary: Bellefaire JCB's Parents and Children Together (PACT) Family Therapy Program provides intensive home based treatment (IHBT) and Integrated Co-occurring Treatment (ICT) to families who are experiencing stress due to factors such as social or emotional problems, issues related to housing or childcare, and more. Our program provides services to children and adolescents who are suffering with mental health symptoms and/ or substance use disorders. We also help parents to better understand and support their children's emotional and behavioral health needs.
Intern Position Summary: The Parents and Children Together (PACT) IHBT Intern is a paid position that places qualified graduate students under the administrative and clinical supervision of an experienced clinician who serves as both supervisor and field Instructor. The Parents and Children Together (PACT) IHBT Intern provides therapeutic services to children and their families. This unique role affords advanced graduate students the opportunity to work within a strong clinical team and receive invaluable opportunities for hands-on learning, advanced clinical training, and 24/7 supervisor support. The schedule is flexible and affords The Parents and Children Together (PACT) IHBT Intern the ability to work around classes, job, or other responsibilities.
Intern Experience Details: As the PACT IHBT Intern, you will provide the following services, including, but not limited to:
Assist in providing model-driven assessments, individual and family counseling/psychotherapy, and case management services to youth and their families.
Collaborate with community organizations, schools, health and social service professionals, the justice system, and other agencies involved with the client
Participate in weekly individual supervision, group supervision and quarterly department trainings
Other services necessary to the enrichment of the internship experience
Location: Services are provided in the community. Travel is to be expected.
Hours: Field hours are flexible. Evening work should be expected.
Qualifications: This internship is open to second year Master's level students. Therefore, a Bachelor's Degree is required and you must be currently enrolled in a Masters level Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy program. A SWT, CT or MFTT is also required.

Position Overview
Southwestern Medical Foundation is seeking a motivated and creative Communications Intern for Summer 2026. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, digital strategy, and storytelling. The intern will support key initiatives across social media, website optimization, podcast and video content production, and donor engagement campaigns.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in editing and maximizing podcast and video content for social media, newsletters, and website placements
Create transcripts, pull key quotes, and help produce short-form social media clips
Support paid and organic social media campaigns, including scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and conducting social listening
Assist in a website audit and optimization project
Assist in communications for fall events and campaigns, including social promotion, invitations, and follow-up materials
Contribute to donor relations efforts by supporting events and preparing materials

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Intensive Home-Based Therapy (IHBT) Intern position is a paid, hourly role at Bellefaire JCB. The role is reserved for graduate students who have reached the internship portion of their Master's programs and have secured a formal trainee license, allowing them to perform clinical duties under the supervision of an authorized, licensed field supervisor. The IHBT Intern provides intensive therapeutic services to families who are experiencing difficulties in response to any number of internal and external stressors. The (IHBT) Intern works a member of a treatment team directed by an IHBT Program Supervisor/ Field Instructor. Services take place in the home and community. Work hours are flexible and must be kept below 20 per week. Some evenings apply.
This position will be based out of our Summit County regional office and will support Summit County specifically.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assist in the assignment of cases to provide assessments, counseling/psychotherapy, and community support program services for clients, their families, and with significant others as needed, including: community organizations, schools, other health and social service professionals, the justice system, and other agencies involved with the client.
Provide the following services, including, but not limited to:
Family and individual counseling
Substance abuse counseling
Family education
Family and individual skill trainings
Advocacy
Information and referral
Transportation

Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Responsible for timely termination/evaluation letters.
Provide advocacy and liaison work with schools, the justice system, social services, health services, and like agencies as needed.
Provide culturally competent clinical services, including but not necessarily limited to: biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans and reviews, individual counseling, group counseling, family therapy, aftercare planning, and termination reports.
Adhere to Agency/ACS/ NASW codes of conduct and ethics. Adhere to Learning Contract as designed by Student and Field Instructor.
Attend all scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.

Personal and group supervision, both with on-site staff and with university faculty members via video-conferencing help to ensure that each individual's learning needs can be met fully and in an individual manner. Self-reflection, self-evaluation, and peer critique help to keep these fieldwork experiences focused on learning, not on teaching.

Sheppard Pratt offers two externship opportunities for predoctoral psychology graduate students. Both predoctoral psychology externships are offered at Sheppard Pratt's flagship campus in Towson, Maryland.
Assessment Externship
For predoctoral psychology graduate students interested in advanced training focused on diagnostic assessment and psychological evaluation with children and adolescents, Sheppard Pratt is the perfect place to complete your externship. Trainees must have completed coursework in psychological assessment, including tests of cognitive abilities/IQ and have previous experience working with children in a clinical setting.

Inpatient Externship
In addition to the assessments-focused externship, Sheppard Pratt offers an externship for predoctoral students interested in inpatient programming focused on individual and group therapy, and psychoeducational and skills groups. Trainees must have completed coursework in individual and group therapy as well as psychological assessments, including personality and cognitive abilities testing.

Learning Model:
Students will be under the supervision of a licensed social worker and will learn through observation, demonstration, and ongoing feedback to ensure that each individual's learning needs can be met fully and in an individual manner. Self-reflection, self-evaluation, and peer critique will further help to advance professional growth and development.
Student Expectations:
· Report to the unit/site 2-3 days a week 8am- 4pm (based on total days required from student's MSW program)
· Serve a variety of patient populations on either our child& adolescent or adult service lines.
· Provide a wide range of social work services to an assigned caseload of patients in support of established treatment plan goals and discharge plans.
· Complete a comprehensive psychosocial assessment.
· Meet individually with patients on caseload as well as with families and/or significant others to monitor and evaluate progress.
· Conduct clinical groups 1-2 times a week.
· Maintain a caseload of 2-4 patients.
· Communicate all aspects of patient care to treatment team members.
· Self-directed learning; independently seeking learning opportunities and feedback.
· Readiness to learn from all experiences.
· Patience and compassion when working with those with mental illnesses.

•Students applying to this internship/practicum will need a strong foundation in child/adolescent mental health theory and related theory and practice, clinical reasoning, foundations of evidence-based practice, group theory and application, and teaching/learning concepts and applications related to staff, client, and caregiver education.
Learning Model:
Supervision is provided in a 1:1 supervision model by a Licensed Certified Social Worker, Clinical or Licensed Certified Professional Counselor once a week. In addition, task supervision will be provided at offsite placements by a licensed master's level social worker or counselor who is on-site daily. Both group supervision as well as training opportunities are also provided on a bi-monthly basis.
Student Expectations:
Student expectations include self-directed learning; independently seeking learning opportunities and feedback, flexible thinking and adaptability. Readiness to learn from all experiences. Patience and compassion when working with this challenging patient population.
Student Tasks:
Students will have the opportunity to provide individual, group and family therapy. They will also get experience in crisis intervention and collaboration with school staff. These programs work with diverse populations within the Montgomery County Public School System. Students will be assigned at minimum 4-6 students for individual caseload. They will also co-lead and lead group therapy sessions. They have the opportunity to attend IEP meetings and help with behavioral modification within the school. They also work with school counselors on a needs assessment for the school to help determine services that will be provided by the program.

Internship (Housing Initiative Program) 2026-2027 Social Work/Counseling Fieldwork

The Housing Initiative Program (HIP) supports chronically mentally ill residents of Montgomery County sustain their housing, or find housing, in order to prevent homelessness. The HIP Program Intern would learn how to offer case management and social support services to adult clients under the supervision of a veteran social worker. The skills that could be potentially acquired would include supportive counseling, homeless outreach, resource location, care coordination, and housing placement.
Opportunity Time Frame:
The HIP Intern would serve through the academic year 2026-2027 for 16-20 hours per week. Days and times can be negotiated with the program director.
Eligibility Requirements:
Students will be considered who are enrolled in the internship phase of their BSW program or the first year of their MSW program.
Learning Models:
HIP Interns will be fully engaged in social work tasks and responsibilities under the mentorship of a veteran social worker. Interns will also be able to participate in formal trainings through Sheppard Pratt and will receive both individual and group supervision.
Learning Objectives:
1. Understanding the principles and practices of social work case management. 2. Learning the challenges of chronic mental illness and the risks of homelessness. 3. Understanding the approaches to preventing homelessness and locating viable housing.
Student Tasks:
1. Assisting their supervising social worker with case management tasks. 2. Offering supportive counseling and guidance on housing to clients. 3. Completing documentation to monitor client wellbeing and receipt of needed services.
