What You Will Do In Your Role:
You will be responsible for assisting the R.N. in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the Cath Lab patient.
You will be responsible to function in a call-out situation by scrubbing and running the table (x-ray).
You will ensure archiving and storage of digital data and maintains proper operation of image review stations.
You will perform post processing manipulation of digital data to supply physician with additional clinical data.
You will be able to function in a Code Blue situation.
What qualifications you will need:
1 year of experience in the field or in a related area
Prior Cath Lab experience preferred
Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology required
ARRT and Radiology Technologist through the Texas Department of Health or RCIS certification required.
Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.

Job Summary and Qualifications
* Responsible for the organization of and efficiency of workflow processes in the frozen section and gross examination areas.
* Work closely with on-site Pathologists in determining grossing priorities.

* Perform specialized procedures such as frozen sections and decalcification; maintain and coordinate specimen and records for specialized procedures using appropriate protocols; submit request for special histological procedures and special stains when appropriate.
* Maintain records of surgical pathology specimen dissections and dictation; assist in the compilation of reports for surgical pathology; label and store gross tissue specimen.
* Photograph specimen samples as appropriate for use in instruction and documentation. Perform photo microscopy on cases considered for interdepartmental conferences or for teaching purposes; maintain complete and accurate records of all gross and microscopic photographs.
* Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
* Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".
EDUCATION:
* Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred.
EXPERIENCE:

* Completes and updates Provider Information Forms for each new contract.

* Sends out new provider welcome packets to providers who have contracted with the plan.
* Utilizes Plan's system to track and follow up with Providers who have not responded to Contracts and/or Applications sent as directed by management.
